what do you guys think?? Should I buy it and risk being scammed? I really want to buy this but don't want to get scammed out of almost $100

Also I checked the seller feedback and it is very good.. Although I do not like the fact he is from Hong Kong.. Haven't had any good experiences from any overseas sellers..

i wouldn't buy it
too good to be true

pmilladcs 26th Feb 2007 8:27 pm

this is an ipod video clone. this apears to be a new one. it is real. how much does it cost? if it isn't too cheap and kinda expensive, i would buy it. cuz u get what you paid for. well not all the time, usually in mp4 cases you get more.

pmilladcs 26th Feb 2007 8:31 pm

i think this is a rockchip player

lattesurf 27th Feb 2007 6:35 am

chris4824 , it seems to be a Sunplus player as it contains a camera function, which the Sunplus chipset supports. But maybe a newer chipset, i'm not sure.

So far have not heard of any Sunplus players with hacked memories, but maybe that's because they are quite uncommon.

But this also means that your available softwares for firmware theming/backup are very limited. As Sunplus chipsets like the Rockchip do not have many softwares for it.

Re: 2.5" mp4 with avi support and video out and more

*pmilladc* It costs $100.00 with buy it now.. I went ahead and bought one.. I was able to get it with a bid of 86.00.. When I get it I will post back and let everyone know what I think and if anyone has any questions about it..

*lattesurf* so if it either sunplus or a rockchip then I won't be able to mod it or back it up (firmware)?? If not, when do you think software will be available for it?? and you said that it doesn't have many. does that mean that there maybe a chance I will be able to mod it??.. It would probally be easier to wait until I get it so i know what firmware I am working with and everything huh...

Thanks again guys.. you are all awesome.. Love the site..

dude ! U frm SC too !

If u r frm cola., I would like to see the player when you get it. It looks very very interesting, looks like a video ipod !
I am just too scared to buy anything unless I am sure about the player (had 2 bad experiences with hacked memory already :( )

chris4824 27th Feb 2007 10:53 am

*xenocarcinus* Not from cola..from myrtle beach.. When I do get it I will post pics and all the info I can think of and if anyone has any questions then I will be glad to answer them..

Re: 2.5" mp4 with avi support and video out and more

sweet.

lattesurf 27th Feb 2007 5:23 pm

chris4824 , usually for Rockchip and Sunplus players, firmware related issues (themes or mod) are not recommended to be modified.

There are a handful of softwares available in the downloads section, but not many. So if you accidentally brick your player due to wrong firmware updates, most cases you'll need to factory-reset the players.

Support AVI format or other format files converted to AVI format (software included), MPG, MPEG I, MEG II, file formats.
Play Effect: 320*240@30f/s.
i doubt the information above for 100 dollars...elljust ny intuition..
if incase the info about video playback is tru..it must be at least an mp3 recorder...

nanocopyuser 6th Mar 2007 9:56 pm

It look's soo nice, better than iPod Video! I want one =P But it's kinda pricey. I want to get a meizu later. I want so many MP4's o_0 I want: FMP, Meizu, a mp4 with inbuilt speaker and this one :P I'm becoming a mp4 freak >_> I can't get many of them though, it's though being a 14 year old! lol...

but this one seems to good to be true :P

=)

PUSHPLAY DIGITAL 6th Mar 2007 9:56 pm

If that is a good player it has an ANYKA Solution most of the good quality video clones are made with this chip set. If it is made with the Sunplus Solution do not buy it. That is the cheaper copy of the player and most have defects. Don't get me wrong the Sunplus Solution is good for players that it was made for just not this player.

Re: 2.5" mp4 with avi support and video out and more

ok guys.. I got the player today.. Everything looks great so far.. I took some pictures but need somewhere to upload them easily for you guys to see them.. The player is much easier to use than my other two mp4s.. It has an explorer like interface.. I am putting a movie on it now (avi) to see how it plays.. I will post more later.. if you guys have any questions let me know.. It doesn't have a built in speaker and it doesn't have FM radio..

arviverona 8th Mar 2007 4:33 am

oh great its a great player i think...well if the features are available..kind of waste if fm radio is missing but i think its worth it if it plays many video formats...

arviverona 8th Mar 2007 4:36 am

and also the built in speaker..a must have on mp4 players if earphone is not in handy...but still a great , quite pricey player....

Re: 2.5" mp4 with avi support and video out and more

I saw one like this with similar specs for $69, but it looked big & bulky compared to this one. Plus the other one only had 512MB internal ram, with an SD card expansion memory. Two things I wondered though,

1. How fast/slow would it read off the SD card (ie: Would videos lag?)

2. RE: Play Effect: 320*240@30f/s. What does 'play effect' mean? Can I really play an avi at 320x240 at true 30fps? Those files must be huge.
