Pictures of a 8GB iPod Nano 2nd gen clone
 

I still can't figure out how to open up the player, but the new 8GB player is thinner than the 2GB iPod Nano 2nd gen clones, as you will see from the pics. The 8GB actually has the feel of the nano, but it still uses the same firmware (for now). If anyone has suggestions on how to open this player up, please let me know (i do know how to open 2nd gen ones, but this one is built differently).

I have verified this is a REAL 8GB player via formatting and such and my supplier is reliable and does not deal in hacked players at all.

So far i only got ones in black and silver and the quantities are limited.

I would have to see the inside of it first before being convinced its a 8GB.

For it to be a 8GB wouldn't it need 4 2GB chips? When you open up one of these players and see how cramped everything is inside, I can't see how they have made room for 2 more chips.

Open it up and lets all have a look inside.

It would most likely have 2 4GB Chips if it was really an 8GB Player.

They make 4GB chips for the clones? I know with the real 4GB clones they have 2 2GB chips.

Does anyone have a pic of a 4GB chip inside a clone? I'd like to see it.

the 8GB is out as Samsung developed a 8GB chip, this is why the player is slimmer than the normal as it uses only 1 chip and apparently it is thinner than the standard chips.

I want to open it, but don't know how, short of breaking the casing (which i really don't want to do), if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

How much did it cost you?

When you say "...player is slimmer than the normal as it uses only 1 chip" - how can you verify this when you haven't opened it up yet? Would definately be interested to see when you open this up to see the chip that is on it.

Hang on a sec razzer001, i'm confused...

From that pdf at Samsung, it says 8G. What is 8G? is it 8Gb or 8GB?
I thought it would at least display whether it is in Gb or GB because
8Gb = 1GB, 16Gb = 2GB, 32Gb = 4GB and 64Gb = 8GB. Am i reading something wrong and getting my bits mixed up with my bytes? :|

yet if they were stacking 4GB chips to make 8GB you would think it would be thicker rather than thinner huh. Unless they're talking about a new chip design. *shrugs*

I've been eyeballing one those 8GB players from mp4nation since that style player vanished from Uxcells site. Thinking about it...

i don't think they literally stack the chips, from what saw the chip is not any thicker, but i couldn't tell if it was any thinner, as i said i was told by my guy that the chip was thinner. The actual player is thinner than the normal 2nd gen clones, it has a nicer feel (i think).

Whats the size of the headphone jack? 2.5 or 3.5 ?
