Hi!
I bought a 2GB (of course advertised as a 4GB model) Glacier a few months back from eBay (seller coolstuff_onlinestore , nowadays known as i-proshop.)
All was fine until today when the battery ran out while I was at work. I let the device be by itself for a few hours until out of curiosity I turned it on to see if it had any power left. Bad idea. I was greeted with a "DISK ERROR"-message. Found out just recently that the data was somehow all messed up and Windows claimed it wasn't formatted at all.
But the real problem of the story happened just 5 minutes ago. I had the player charging with the wall adapter, and decided to put my cellphone charger & phone to the adjacent slot. I heard a loud pop and smelled some burnt equipment. Sure enough, the adapter pretty much blew up. Marvelous.
So, I have two separate questions:
1.) does the 2GB Glacier always mess up / wipe all the content when the battery runs out?
2.) is there any other way to charge the player than with the wall adapter? I'd rather not start fighting with the seller to get a new adapter, so if there's a way to charge it with the computer, for example, I'd be happy to know.
Cheers!
