Amazed, confused, what should I get?
Hey all,
I recently stumbled across several very cheap, and swell looking mp3/mp4 players (also video players!) on eBay while shopping for an iPod. I already have an iRiver, but these video players looked really great. Cheap too! However, as I've spent today doing research on these Chinese clones, I'm a bit confused. There seems to be a TON of different ones out there, with mixed reviews all around. So, I'm looking to get a 1-4gb ipod nano style clone. (It can be a little different in looks). What should I get? What one would you recommend, that you have heard good things about, or better yet, own yourself? What website should I use? (eBay or something like Uxcell?) Links to reviews are uber appreciated! Thanks! |
Re: Amazed, confused, what should I get?
Hi Steve. I'm fairly new to the whole chipod scene myself. I have purchased both a hacked and non hacked player off of eBay. There are some good sellers on there, but you have to be really careful. Don't just check the feedback, check how many user ids they've had.
I bought one a month ago off of eBay that I love. Here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...3811&rd=1&rd=1 It's a real 4GB player. Good price too. I've seen some really cool looking players on both UXCell and Push Play Digital, but I haven't bought from either store yet. |
steve,
although they don't have any nano clones anymore (they used to... and they were great) UXcell are very reliable. I've made several purchases and am extremely impressed with the service. I'm growing a little tired of the nano clone style myself but you might like to try UXcells Ebay store 'discounttown' They still sell the clones there at a few $ less than they were selling them on the website. |
Hey guys,
Thanks! I really appreciate the help. I've looked on eBay, and on several websites, and the average going price for a iPod nano clone (1GB) seems to be about $33 with S&H. I looked up discounttown, and they were abit more. I'm wondering...all the iPod Nano Clones 1GB look the same, are they all made by the same company and work the same? I can't seem to find a review of a 1GB iPod nano clone that addresses the issues of music organication, and video quality... Thanks again all! I'll probably end up getting one from eBay, maybe from ellishang, or UXcel.. |
Re: Amazed, confused, what should I get?
I'm not sure on that one. My two clones are hard plastic not the aluminum cased ones. I prefer these as the aluminum ones seem like they would scratch easier. I could be wrong about that, but that is what it seems like to me.
Based on the different casings, I would say there are a few different manufacturers out there. The menus are the same on both of mine. Nothing fancy but they get the job done. Not sure if the menus are the same on clones, but I would guess they are pretty similar. Video quality is very good for the price. I've downloaded movies onto mine and have no trouble watching them. If you are planning on watching movies on it, I would recommend downloading Virtual Dub from this website. It really helps the video quality. Wish I could be more help, but I don't know much other than what I've picked up here and from personal experience with mine. |
Hey all,
I've decided to bid on this little player: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...8343&rd=1&rd=1 Hope it goes well! |
