Price Guide

Due to large amounts of 'hacked' memory on ebay, I thought i'd share this information.

Below is a rough pricing guide. If you find prices cheaper than this, it's either 'hacked' or they are loosing money.

1.5" Ipod Nano Clone

1GB - 20 USD
2GB - 30 USD
4GB - 45 USD
8GB - 75 USD

gotta be honest, I've NEVER seen a 1gb clone for $20. Cheapest is 30.

Re: Price Guide

These are factory prices, so obviously people are going to add a profit margin.

Isn't that a bit high for a factory price? I have a facotry invoice from a 2GB 1.8" FMP, with the price tag of 9 Euro.
This was beore the Iphone's raise of prices.

Oh ok. You didn't specify that those were factory prices, so that's why I was a little bit doubtful

I suspect the invoice is for 9 euros to claim 'Low Value Consignment Relief'.

Low Value Consignment Relief exempts low value items from being charged import tax.

It is an EU wide policy and is set between 10-22 euros depending on the country.

You were lucky customs didn't catch on. You could have had your package confiscated.

No, this was not the case, because the invoice was not for me.. It was the invoice for the dealer in HK, it was ticked as no shipping, and such. So it wouldn't have helped.

BTW, I order 1GB 1.5" players for about 24$ a piece, before the raise it was 21$, including shipping+insurance to the EU. so I think that factory price for a 1GB 1.5 is definetly under 10 bucks

There are somethings you need to remember, all these players are made in different factories, the really cheap ones are of very poor quality and more than likely will not last you longer than a month or two.

If you really wanted you could find 'factories' aka converted apartments, that make these players for even cheaper.

Re: Price Guide

You have a point.
But then, what are the factory prices for what quilty Chipods

PS: How big can the difference of players with same specs but different quailty?

Re: Price Guide

This was meant to be a rough guide to show the difference in prices of memory sizes.

Basically, if you think you can buy 8GB at 30 USD, its 'hacked'.

Yeh , you guys are all getting confused.
There are multiple differnt prices you are all listing , Say it like this

Price:
Shipped?:
Taxed?:
Generation version:
Size In GB:
How many for that price (20,50,100?):

There are 2 factory prices you guys are talking about 1 is cost to make price (Raw materials+Labour), whereas others are saying what it costs to buy from the factories after the factory has added there profit.
