Hey

I was just wondering

I dont get the 65k and 260k colour bit, whats it mean.

If you get a 260k mp4 player will it be better quality?

Dean786 , generally the 65k means a 16bit resolution, whilst the 260k means a 18bit resolution.

The higher the better. You can see the difference for example by changing your computer display settings. The old Win95,98 could be set to 256colours (8bit) and 16bit colours. Vast difference in the display quality.

I'm not into the screen resolution stuff and quality, so I can't really explain further of the difference.

But yes, the higher the better the quality would be.

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

T39 doesn''t sound as good as my T29

They could be set to 4/8/24/32-bit, depending on the graphics card. It's the same on today's gfx cards and OSes.

They didn't go for more than 32 bits of color because 32-bit is more than the human eye can detect, therefore there would only be a marginal increase in image quality if they would go to, say, 64-bit color. There are scanners which use 48-bit sensors for scanning, but the picture is still stored in 24 or 32-bit format. :P

I still use Windoze 98 for some programs, so don't argue about it with me coz i know it inside out.

Anyway... Yes, photos and videos will look a lot better on the 260k colors display.
