I see that the battery that you all have bought have a white, red and black wires. On our MP4 players, there are only red and black wires. What did you do with the white wire on your new battery? Did you just cut the connector off and solder the red and black wire to the chipod and leave out the white wire?

Thanks

On the ipod mini I had it was Black, Grey and White.
So I just put a voltmeter on them to check.
Grey and White were both positive at 3.8v and Black was negative.
So I just cut the Grey one off and soldered in the White and Black wires.
Its always safer to check with a meter before you solder them in.

Ipod shuffle battery should fit:-

It's 30 x 19 x 4mm at 300mAh

I just searched "Ipod Batttery" on EBay.

I have order myself a replacement battery from the link directly above from here, price to the UK £2.49 which don't seem too bad from this E Bay seller actionace007 however it seems he has something to do with Uxcell.com

i am able to find batterys that dont have wires coming out from the battery that fit my size, they are 750mAH. The only problem is that they have no wires coming out of them. Instead they have a positve and negative touchpad on the battery itself. I was wondering if its safe to solder wires onto the positve and negative point on the battery then solder the wires onto my fake ipod?

Post a link here for the battery you mention please?

And Yes I can't see why you can't solder that battery you mention, if it has no wires.

But check with a meter first before you connect

Batteries like these:

[web:24ad69c63f]http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Casio-NP-20-Battery-Pack-3-6v-500mAh-Li-ion-FAST-DEL_W0QQitemZ120148122492QQihZ002QQcategoryZ64347Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem[/web:24ad69c63f]

which dont have wires, but have positive negative terminals on them. Is it safe to solder wires onto the terminals on the battery? or will it kill the battery? Also will a 3.6volt battery work with our fake ipods?
