The battery you show looks a bit lumpy in size, as it's for a camera.

Voltage wise it would seem ok for me, but others may not agree.

If you were to go for one of these batteries are you sure it will fit in your player? If so then just tin the contacts and your wires with solder, but don't hold the soldering iron on the battery contacts for too long or you may damage the battery and melt the plastic also.

But as mentioned before do use a muti meter to check the correct polarity first after soldering the wires on to prevent damage to your player

Hi,
I am wanting to replace the battery in a chipod. The existing battery is an HT Li_on 042030 180mAh (l) battery. It is 30mm X 20mm X 3mm. I'd be grateful if somebody would confirm the size of the ipod shuffle battery and whether all ipod shuffle batteries are the same size. It would be great if somebody could let me know the part number of the battery that I need. Ideally I would like to get a battery with more capacity, perhaps 300mAh?

Thanks,
Chris.

If you look back to an earlier post in this thread I put up a link to a UK ebay supplier for Ipod shuffle batteries at 300mAh.

Not exactly a replacement battery, but for those that are unsure about their soldering ability, something like this (2400Mah Li-Ion rechargeable USB charger @ $13.83 delivered) is a good deal to extend battery life when away from an USB port. It's quite small and doesn't weigh all that much, but can obviously be somewhat impractical to lug around unless you're carrying a bag for work/school anyway.

So the Shuffle replacement batteries should fit in Nano clones? If so i think i'll order one too.

i've checked the shuffle batteries sometime ago and they should fit quite well with a little bit of extra space in your nano clones.

However, these shuffle batteries are usually about 250mAh, which is about the same as the stock battery of the nano clones. So don't really expect much increase in playback time, unless you're swapping a damaged battery.

Why are clones called MP4 Players, when they don`t play .MP4 at all?
It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

Thanks. My chipod battery is supposed to be 180mAh, but it will only hold charge sufficient to play the radio for about 10 minutes. The vendor offered to exchange the Chipod, but it would cost more to post it back to China than buy a 300mAh replacement, so I ordered up a new battery instead, which has cost me about a fiver.

Cheers,
Chris.

My Nano clone's stock battery is 180mAh and lasts for about 3.5 hours. If basic math applies in batteries too, then a 250mAh battery would last me for almost 5 hours.

I think it's worth the five bucks.

Unique,

The replacement batteries seem to be 300mAh and are sometimes better quality than the ones you get with the player so you may even be able to double your playing time!
