Anyone recognize this player/firmware?

Good looking player with good looking menus from a decent shop (although notoriously bad at posting specs).

I've never seen one with menus that look like that before, so I'm curious as to whether anyone here knows whats powering it and what the capabilities are.

from the look of it its most likely a sunplus chipset which are quite good

That would be this chipset? Looks like it has similar capabilities to the Anyka solution. (As a curiosity, the specs mention AAC but not WMA, heh.)

Do you happen to know if they support OGG and playlists (or a tag based music library/browsing) and if they use that ARM9 core for some 'custom' features that set them apart from the Rockchip players?

im not sure but i think it probably does support ogg and playlists. most sunplus players have a camera too. as for the wma not being mentioned thats probably our good friend engrish paying us a visit!!
