Re: mp4nation.com!??

Hi Ashley_RB

I just wanted to let you know that I am the inimitable me, not some virtual reincarnation designed to prop up the reputation of a disreputable seller.

I wanted to buy some sort of song player and I went to ebay to look and then thought I would do a little research first--thank goodness. I came here and learned about hacking memory thereby saving myself the sadness of experiential learning.

I know pretty much nothing about these players and the people here were kind enough to answer questions. Questions which I am pretty sure no knowledgeable person could imagine being asked.

Razzer was particularly helpful, which is of course an excellent attribute in a successful business person. And above all things I have been impressed with Razzer's business acumen. He meets potential customers here and no doubt elsewhere, appears to have good connections with manufacturers, and educates others concerning his product through videos. He gave me what I considered to be both good and honest advice.

As I would do with any merchant that expended effort assisting me, I chose MP4Nation when I finally made up my mind. I have not yet received my Ainol V2000, nor has it even been shipped. Therefore I can't yet say whether I have been duped, but I can assure you that everyone at MPXPlayer will know it, if that is the case. I will also let everyone know if the sale was as presented. I will also provide an honest opinion of my player once it arrives and I have the chance to try it out.

It is sad that dishonest business practices such as the ones you speak of are rampant on the net. This hurts honest people and leads to general paranoia. But let us remember the sage advice that just because you are paranoid, it doesn't me you don't have real enemies.

I shall of course heed you advice and be careful out amongst the thieves and schysters. And I very much hope all the other people on this forum are as real as me.

I've just pinched myself, and, erm I'm real  ! I doubt very much you'll get duped by MP4Nation - I have ordered, and received 2 players from them. I may have been able to get them a few $ cheaper on Ebay, but I like the fact I get 12 months guarantee from them!!

Thanks guys, appreciate the support.

Just got done with making a video review of the PA20 and PC20, haven't uploaded the PC20 review.

well, i finally got my meizu ( ouf..)
thank razzer for your "commercial hand" ( i donno if we fan say that in english) due to the delay. He's profesionel like i expected.

About the meizu, i found it pretty good, and rather slim ( i can't imagine the new slim one ). Good luminosity for vidéo, the audio is so-so (donno why, maybe i should adjust some setting).

the meizu is so skinable !!!!! and i enjoy that :)

the bad point : this meizu don't do speaker... so lame, i thought every mp4 does speaker

razzer001 24th Sep 2007 10:39 am

smith - don't be too upset that the player doesn't have a speaker, most MP4 players that do have a built in speaker don't produce good sound - also they drain heavily on the battery.

Upload the video review of the Hacha PC20:

I have just purchased my third unit from MP4Nation - an Ainol V2000.

I've just got the feeling that this is THE one which will make me sell / give all the Rockchips and the M6 away for Christmas :D !!

ghost0001 28th Sep 2007 10:35 pm

So my wife ordered me a V2000. God I cant wait to get home and try this player out! My wife also said that MP4 nation wasn't that bad of a site. Kudos to MP4 Nation, I'll post more about it later.

Re: mp4nation.com!??

Razzer do you have some info about the m7 ? price, when it will be release ?

cos i'm so dissapointed, i heard the 8gb will cost 150$ and i just bought the m6 ....

ikarugamoo 10th Oct 2007 9:06 am

Really interesting thread and has got me thinking about which player to buy, certainly from mp4nation.

What are the emulators like on the V2000? Are they full speed? Half speed (frame-skip)? What's the controller like on the actually player itself for playing the games.

Answers to those will probably seal a sale of one of them but there seems to be a lot of good players.

iixorbiusii 10th Oct 2007 1:29 pm

Hi ikarugamoo

It's probably a bit rude of me to copy a link from another forum (MP4Nation's actually!), but check out the screen quality of the of the JXD301 - someone has taken some screen shots which shows the quality of the LTPS screen.

http://www.mp4nation.com/forum/viewt...r=asc&start=30

If you search for JXD301 on Youtube, there is a video of it's game playing ability.

razzer001...

I was watching your site and I pay attention to a Optimus Cosmic - White which is not shown but it's shown only black version... is this a rockchip player?

I want to buy a player that's identical to your white player, including the keys above for volume, the slot at the right with the annoying rubber cover... but is not rockchip... AFAIK it's an Actions if I am not wrong.

A very advanced Actions player as it is multitasking, support audio APE, OGG, FLAC, WMA, video AVI, screen is 320x240 in 262k colours, have SRSWOW, support for ID3v2 tag, comes with calendar stopwatch.

I read in another thread that you announced new Actions chip that will have SRSWOW... is this Optimus Cosmic that were talking about?

Can you correct your page to make the white version appear? ... the thing is that black version is showing a rockchip menu which is confusing.

iixorbiusii 13th Oct 2007 3:31 pm

Hi Daremos,
My player which looks identical to the Optimus Cosmic from MP4Nation definitely has a Rockchip inside (please see below).
I didn't get mine from MP4Nation, but I figured they were all called this - it turns out, the Optimus Cosmic name is unique to MP4Nation.

hey razer, what is going on with the ainol v2000? my wife ordered one in September and received a notice that it shipped on the first of October. but she still hasn't received it. she cannot track it with the tracking number that was given to her. please help!!!

update 28 oct 07

well, one week from getting out of iraq. my wife finally got the player. seems the mail guy didnt want to deliver it to us so he rts it. mp4 nation sent it back priority. she got it within days. thanks mp4 nation. i cant wait to get home and play with this. thanks again.

Riolist 18th Oct 2007 12:43 pm

I'm also suffering the mp4nation shipping phenomenon. I ordered a player on 10/1, I finally got notification that it 'shipped' on 10/8 (what took so long?) and here it is the 18th and I STILL haven't gotten it. I've ordered things from HK before and had them in 4 days.

Riolist 18th Oct 2007 6:41 pm

I posted a similar message as the one above on the mp4nation board. A few people responded, agreeing with me that shipping time from mp4nation seems to be inordinately long. The entire thread has been deleted without comment or explanation from the admin. Apparently mp4nation deals with legitimate customer dissatisfaction by censoring and deleting it instead of honestly addressing it or attempting to correct it, in an attempt to prevent future buyers becoming aware of what they will experience should they order from them. I will probably never buy another player from them. I may never even recieve the one I have bought, but my credit card company will hear from me if I don't.

Riolist 18th Oct 2007 6:49 pm

I have to issue an apology to mp4nation. My thread was not deleted, it was only moved to a more appropriate area of the board dealing with shipping matters. I'm not sure if I can or should delete the above post, but for now I hope this apology serves to address the incorrect information it contains. Once again, my apologies to mp4nation for jumping to conclusions.

iixorbiusii 23rd Oct 2007 8:45 am

Hi Riolist,

You should be able to edit any post you've written - just log on, and go to the one that you want to change - you should see this scissor icon -> http://www.mympxplayer.org/templates.../icon_edit.gif?

...But some say you should never re-write the history books!!

No problem, good to see that you got your player, hope your liking it.

Just to give a heads up we will have priority shipping option added soon.

No we don't sell hacked players at all. We are on ebay now, but those auctions are for Meizu and other high end players, not the iPod clones or rockchip players.

This quote talks about MP4Nation. What I want to know is this: Are Rockchip players considered "low end", or not as good as, what? Other chip sets? Forgive me as I'm trying to learn about this stuff. I currently own a Rockchip player that I think is pretty cool but would love to know if other chips sets work better. Anyone?

iixorbiusii 2nd Dec 2007 3:15 am

MP4Nation are back up and alive again!

The new address is http://www.mp4nation.net.

When used in conjunction with the help and advice here at mympxplayer, the forums over there are full of owners who can help you understand the pros and cons of each player on sale. Well worth checking out, if you are unsure.

No I think razzer had made a mistake there.

Most of the better players on MP4nation are Rockchip based apart from the Meizu ,even when they are NOT marked as such e.g Onda, Hacha, Oppo and Teclast.
Even the not so branded rockchips in the Optimus range are also very robust .

The big advantage with getting a branded rockchip is you should get a firmware backup that works, although Rockchips don't usually have any problems until you start playing with the firmware.

razzer001 3rd Dec 2007 1:55 am

i used to think Rockchips as low end, and they were, until the brand name MP4/PMP companies started to use them and actually make custom firmware to run on them. I think the first to take advantage and open the door on using Rockchips was Teclast. Now Onda and Hacha have both proven the rockchip capable of support a touch screen interface.

I am very interested to see what the new line of RK27XX series has to offer.

Can anybody confirm if the 4GB miniSD cards on sale at MP4nation are NON-SDHC?

I bet a lot of members could use a 4GB MiniSD that would work with their player.

ps
sorry about the multiple posts above, having site access problems again!
