Re: mp4nation.com!??

I ordered the Optimus Magnus from MP4 Nation. I will post a report on it after I've received it and had a chance to play around with it, but I'm no expert on these players, so don't expect anything too in depth!

Re: mp4nation.com!??

I have a quick question for razzer001. I'm currently looking for a player that supports xvid video without conversion, I sent you a message recently about a player called the SmartQ T5 which I read has this function and quite a nice GUI. I read somewhere that the gemei x-750 supports xvid without conversion is this correct? I'm mainly looking to play dvd rips and tv episodes usually around 604x368 res @ 23.98 or 25fps with a video data rate of between 600kb/s-1120k/s. Basically your usual standard downloadable xvid files. Also does the gemei support ID3 and aspect ratio change? any helps much appreciated.

Sere83: The Gemei X750 can play downloaded xvids without being convereted, most players that play at an aspect ratio of 16:9 can do this. A lot fo the newer players can also do this, the Ainol V2000 and the soon to be added Gemei X760, can both do this.

Bad news to those interested in the Ainol V2000 - it is out of stock and will be for sometime, Ainol isn't making many of these players due to a shortage of materials - i am guessing the LTPS screens are hard to find.

Good news - we are adding the Gemei X760 - this is identical hadrware wise to the ainol V2000, expect it doesn't use a LTPS screen, it does use a very nice QVGA TFT LCD screen. We also added two new players the Oppo V9 - only 6.9mm thick and the Teclast C290.

Will have more video reviews up soon.

BTW: Hacha PC20 are going to be out next week and the PA20 (touchscreen) will be released shortly after the PC20 - both players look sweet, especially the touch screen player.

I have just ordered another MP4 player from mp4nation - this time, the 3" LCD Optimus Cobalt. This one has a removable battery, and Razzer001 demonstrated it on Youtube (search Optimus Cobalt)

Razzer, regarding the Teclast C290's 'rocking' ability to change functions, I saw a BBC review on a tablet PC with the same feature - apparently it is aimed at people who cannot use their fingers well.

Just a few more questions for razzer.......any chance of a little video review of the gemei x750?

also whats the maximum video data rate and resolution of xvid files that this supports? are there any problems you can forsee with playing large files 250mb-700mb?

also whats the battery life like for video?

I don't think its for people who can't use their fingers well, i think its the common Chinese habit of adding as many bells and whistles without thinking if it actually brings any functionality to the player - in other words, i personally think the rocking ability is annoying - but the C290 is actually a very nice player and it has a very nice UI (you can disable the rocking ability).

Just finished with a video review - will be up once i process it on virtualdub and upload it.

There should not be any problem playing large video files, it uses a ADI Blackfin 500mhz processor - its meant for the large video files.

It does give about 4hrs of video playback - if you choose to use the loudspeaker over headphones then will be around 3hrs.

So when should the gemei x760 be available?

razzer001 8th Sep 2007 7:53 am

We have chosen to hold off on the X760 because we were informed of supply issues - we don't really want to get stuck with what happened with the Ainol V2000.

Good News! Hacha PC20 is released (but not on our site just yet):

Will have a review once we get it in stock on Tuesday

Pricing will be around $149 for the 4GB and $125 for the 2GB

Hi All,

My Optimus Cobalt from MP4Nation has just arrived:
http://www.mp4nation.com/products/index.php?PID=mp8298

It's a 3" LCD Rockchip player, with Line In and it appears as though it can play the Game files which I saw somewhere on this forum (I will advise once I get a chance to play with it properly).

It took just 5 days from HK to the UK !
Veerrrry happy again with MP4Nation - Thanks Razzer001! :D :D :D
