I fixed my mp4!!!!

I managed to fix my sumvision kpac 2GB with mini SD(the one i couldnt take apart). :D :D :D When i eventually managed to take it apart what i did was bend the pins in the earphone socket(the pins that make contact with the plug) to make it a tighter fit. the speaker no longer works but im not really bothered. The only problem now is i broke 2 of the clips and cracked the screen cover(whoops). also ive noticed the battery seems to be glued to the board with super glue! i wanted to look underneath it but if i pulled the battery off it would probably take the mini sd slot and the chips with it!

Congratulations on fixing it. Wow, sounds like the manufacturer really didn't want people taking apart that player. I've never heard of batteries being superglued down, but mine had double sided tape that was almost as bad.

Thanks I'm not sure weather its super glue or not but im scared to put too much force into it because i don't want to break it after ive only just fixed it.

I'm not encouraging you to try this unless you feel comfortable, but I took the screwdriver I used to open the player with and ran it slowly and carefully under the battery. That's how I found out it was double sided tape and removed it. There was a clear plastic film on the board under the battery and a little of that came up with it, but I just laid it back down and it was fine.

I had to stop a few times and reassure myself that I wasn't damaging the board, but it finally came up. 8)

Im just going to leave it for now. i might try that when i get a new one! I still dont believe its worth £64.99 ($129.13 USD).

Re: I fixed my mp4!!!!

I might wait for the m8 to come out as my current player is working at the moment.

booboo773 17th Aug 2007 7:20 am

That is also a good idea! 8)

UXCell
has some replacement screens. Not sure if one of these will work, but it's a place to start. You might also check eBay.

Re: I fixed my mp4!!!!

the glacier one looks like it might fit as the glacier has the same size screen.

You can get a Meizu from a UK dealer, they also got Teclast, Oppo and Ramos and other Rockchips.
here:
Meizu
The price doesn't seem bad for such a good player.
