^^ thats the one. I heard some decent things.

So, is there any specific/general information I need to know about it? It comes with Tetris, are there other games I can play on it? What type of firmware/chipset does it have? What are recommended video settings?

Thanks a lot, and I'll be posting a review once I get it.

Here's a youtube review by a member here.

It's a rockchip player and as far I can tell it looks really decent. I like it.

I won't get it for probably 3 weeks... so my review will only be in a while.

From what I've read, it seems too much work to get a custom menu working, so I'm just going to keep it at the stock version.

If I'm wrong and there is an easy way for rockchip players, I'd like to know.

I do get almost the same machine locally...
I said almost because mine arrive with a slight difference: no speakers, no hold button and no firmware backup file... anyway the machine without any written information in its back looks to me suspiciously similar to a Teclast C260
So I get to play with it and I noticed that firmware also has a similar version number to Teclast C260 (mine were 01.07.0000) so I run my fortune installing a Teclast firmware
Now I have a Teclast C260 with the latest version available (01.09.0009 CI) and now I have lots of firmware as backup as my new device is supported by Teclast company and its site an a fansite devoted to Teclast devices (www.teclasters.com).
I hope you be as lucky as I was and get a RK2608A device capable of run Teclast firmware

i have this player from dealExtreme and it is very nice. But be aware that it is slightly different than a TeclastC260.

The button layout is different
Takes MINI SD card whereas Teclast takes MICRO SD
Teclast has separate buttons for Power and Hold - this has ONE for both functions

it is a Rockchip device and the buttons are very good but be prepared that if you try and install the Teclast C260 firmware, whilst it may accept it, the player may not function as expected - if you have the original firmware (i did not get it from Deal Extreme as they sent the player IN THE WRONG BOX with actions based programs and manual), then give it a go by all means

alround it is a good player but i have ONE MORE PROBLEM in that the charging indicators DO NOT FUNCTION properly, by this i mean that the battery level images do not show real time battery levels, and when charging the device it says it is complete within ten mins, i have asked dealextreme to check this problem out and they CLAIM all the tests they have done are fine and that this is NOT a problem on other players.,

Deal Extreme are good guys but they buy CHEAP - so be prepared to get what you pay for, but i like them, they are fast, kind, responsive and very professional

you write:

Teclast C260 have just one button for Power and Hold... when it's needed to put the device in Hold it must be covered Play touch button while it's pressed the left side of Power button... sound very tricky... but it's not

Teclast C260 have another key on the other side with is the normal ON/OFF key.

And indeed it uses micro SD

Thanks DaremoS
got carried away there, i dont actually own a teclast

ps
does ayone know how we can get the games to work on a standard OEM rockchip firmware? i know that the Teclasts can access a games menu and install new ones when available, but i would love to have that functionality on no-brand rockchips, i dont know why they dont do it by default, and also www.mp4nation.com has a new rockchip player, unbranded, that has games menu on it.
any answers would be great
cheers

Games must be installed in a folder named "game" in root of the rockchip device.

I comment to you about the buttons because maybe it work like this in your DAP to put it on hold.
