Hi Herrie82,

Thanks & looks like while I was typing, you post the reply.

Could you advise what are the differences (Advatages & disadvantages) between :
A) Meizu M6/M3 8GB black
B) MEIZU 8GB MINIPLAYER with FM MP4 PLAYER
C) Teclast T39 4GB 2.6" dual core MP4 PLAYER FM ENGLISH
D) Teclast T29 8G White

Also any of these have got a docking station(speakers) that can charge the same time?

Is the (A) a mp3 only

anyone heard of Sumvisions products? any good or experiences.

Thanks

-I don't own any Meizu players myself, but the audiophiles say the sound quality is (a lot) better then the iPod's! My ears were damaged by a number of operations I had in my childhood, so I don't really hear the difference anyway. Anything above 16 or 18kHz I can't hear :'( M6 has a nice large screen of 2.4" M3 is a bit of a iPod look-a-like with a small screen (see Meizu)
B) MEIZU 8GB MINIPLAYER with FM MP4 PLAYER
-Miniplayer = M6 as far as I know.
C) Teclast T39 4GB 2.6" dual core MP4 PLAYER FM ENGLISH
-Nice player, got this one myself a few days ago. It has a touch screen
D) Teclast T29 8G White
-This is an older model from Teclast. Some people criticized the music quality.

Also any of these have got a docking station(speakers) that can charge the same time?
There are General Dockings available, however I don't like dockings that much myself, the quality of most speakers are quite poor!

Is the (A) a mp3 only
-Both the M3 and M6 play videos, however the M3 has a quite small screen!

anyone heard of Sumvisions products? any good or experiences.
-This is a less well known Chinese brand, I wouldn't recommend this. I would go for Teclast then
Thanks

>Q1) Do ipod docking station broadcast/amplify the volume only or it is charging the internal batterries too?

Depends on the model of the docking station. Some have built-in speakers and will charge your player for you. Some are only used for amplification of volume, and some are just for charging. You would need to ask the sales person where you buy the device.

>Q2) Chinese mp4 also can buy docking station which amplify & charge? which type & where?

They come with USB cords that charge the player. Most do not come with a docking station that also amplifies.

>Q3) From Buzzygril answer to Q9, I am right to say that if chose ipod route: only can purchase or save the music from one source & can only buy music from Apple. so I can't save the music from my existing cd or buy from other sources.

You can import all your current CDs into iTunes. If you want to buy NEW music to use with your iPod, you will need to purchase it through iTunes. Or you can buy a CD and put it into iTunes, but that kind of defeats the purpose on using an online music service.

>Q4) "sold through the iTunes Store using the .m4p extension. iTunes affixes DRM to the music and video files that are played through it, so that means if you buy music through iTunes, you need to use an iPod to play your music " so this mean itunes is an Apple software & so I can only use ipod from Apple . I assume "rip" means saving it to another source. Is it difficult to do that? any special software of items required?

If you have a CD read/write drive on your computer, you most likely already have the software on your computer, or you can get third-party ripping software, just look on Google. It’s very easy to do. Just put in a CD, and the software will usually start automatically and ask you were to save the ripped CDs. You would save them somewhere on your hard drive. I would use a folder called “My Music” or a place where it will be easy for you to find your ripped music tracks.

If you start up iTunes and put in a CD, iTunes will ask you if you want to import the tracks on the disk into your iTunes Library. It will do all the ripping work for you.

>Q5) "My Chinese Nano clone will play videos, but only if I convert them into AMV format first. Higher-end Chinese players with better chipsets will play more common video formats. " Could you enlighten me how you do this?

The Chinese iPod clones come with a disk that has software to convert videos to AMV format. You would download the tools on that disk and go from there.

>Which one are higher end higher end chinese player?

Meizu, Teclast, and anything with Rock Chip chipsets. The Rock Chip players are better than those with Action chipsets.

>Q7) (Q12) What I mean was is Apple ipod also on usb? or chinese player on usb only. or are there any other type on the market I should watch out for. If Apple Ipod is not on usb then the chinese player can not use the same docking station, yeh?

iPods recharge through USB cords, yes, but the connector to the iPod player itself is proprietary, so you cannot use iPod cords to recharge a Chinese player, and vice-versa.

>From answer to Q13, Looks like Meizu, Creative & Archos are the better ones, Are they consider to be Chinese players?

In that they are made in China, yes. The Meizu, Creative and Archos players are all very good. Cowon also makes excellent players... I think they are made in Korea.

>How about the 8GB Samsung player(nano lookalike)

Avoid buying an 8 GB Nano clone off eBay, because they are assuredly hacked! They may advertise an 8 GB Samsung memory chip, but it’s more likely a 1GB chip or less. Don’t buy these, you will waste your money!

Q9) How do oneknow whether "memory hacked" & how much are available after hacked?

There is a guide on this website that discusses memory hacked players. But you can avoid buying these in the first place. If I were you, I would avoid buying any 4 GB or 8 GB Chinese Nano clones off eBay, because you are much more likely to get a hacked player. There are legitimate sellers of Chinese Nano clones on eBay, but there are many fraudsters too, and it’s often very hard to tell who is who.

If you stick with Meizu, Teclast, Cowon, Archos, Creative, SanDisk or any Rock Chip based player, you will not have to worry about getting a hacked one.

The M6 and the Miniplayer are the same thing. The M3 is a Nano lookalike, also called the Music Card.

All of the above devices can play DivX video as well as MP3/WMA and a few more audio formats.

Sumvision's products are good, but you don't get the assurance of firmware updates and a trusted company.

I'd go with Meizu all the way. The M6 is the best portable multimedia player there is.
