Default Wanna by a new one!

Ok, so my MP4 (http://www.radiopopular.pt/catalogo/.../2152098_G.jpg) bricked, for some reason I don't seem to fully understand, and I am tobuy a new one. I don't actually need to buy a new one, since I can have a equal one (it is still in warranty and I can trade it for a better one if I pay the difference)... So, could you recommend me one from http://www.radiopopular.pt/catalogo/...hp?txtPesq=MP4 ? I would apreciate it very much... You can choose from 1 to 2 GB (I don't need any more) and I can spend up to 100€... So, can you give me a hand?

Much appreciated,
crazy.neo

Does that mean that it will be better than this one (http://www.radiopopular.pt/catalogo/...p?idprod=10411)? Because I have been kinda happy with it... It claims it runs all those video formats, but only after conversion...
If it is a Rockchip player, does this mean it's firmware will be editable? What kind of features does it offer better than my old one (I think it used a Action chipset)... If it had faster file browsing I would be already happy...

This doesn't look like it's Rockchip. It looks like the same as this one:-

Might be worth trying another site, you could get a real Rockchip for this price.

Hi Crazy Neo,

From experience, I can confirm that this one is a very reliable Rockchip player:
http://www.mp4nation.com/products/index.php?PID=mp8282b

MP4Nation are a reliable source, and of course there are others out there. I have also bought a couple of Rockchip players from Ebay, reliably too. They tend to have a max capacity of 2GB, (although 4GB Rockchips are around now).
If you do a quick youtube search for ROCKCHIP MP4 I think you'll see some good Rockchip demos. You'll soon see that they all generally have the '7 tabs across the bottom of the screen' menus.

For around €100, you can get some very advanced players e.g. Ainol, Hacha - even Meizu etc. Again, have a look at MP4Nations site, see one you like and then do a search for it at Youtube.

Before you buy one, it might be worth coming back to this forum and asking people (as you have done already) whether it's any good if you're not sure.

Good luck!

Default Re: Wanna by a new one!

The thing is, I am saving up money to buy a electric guitar, so I didn't want to buy a new one... I prefered to buy a new one from the site I indicated (they will give me a 50€ refund) and upgrade to a better one... If this doesn't happen i can only buy a 65€ player... That will not grant me a Meizu M6, obviously... Plus, I live in Europe, don't have a credit card, so it would be better if you helped me choose one from there...

I guess no one knows these players... If anyone does, PLEASE provide me some information about them... PLEASE!!! I am desperate!!!

Ho, and I saw your Rockchip suggestion... very good!
I wouldlike a player that allowed me to edit the firmware, though... Can he do that? What about more games?

Crazy Neo,
Having had a quick look around the site you've suggested, they all look like AMV/MTV type players to me, and not particularly well priced either. I cannot recognize any as Rockchips. The closest to a Rockchip is this fake Meizu: http://www.radiopopular.pt/catalogo/...p?idprod=12128

...but even then, the spec says it is a MTV format player (although specs on sites like this are often wrong - they just copy and paste!).

Moding Rockchips is dangerous. They hardly ever come with Firmware so if you screw up, you almost certainly won't be able to find a compatible one to bring your player back to life, unless you are lucky / have a Teclast player etc!
