Default Teclast C260 Look-Alike Question

There seems to be a lot of Rockchip Teclast C260 look-alike players for sale.

About these C260 clones, has anyone taken the risk and successfully applied original Teclast firmware to any of these?

Or did you try to apply Teclast firmware and Kill your player?

In either case where did you get it from?, and how much did you pay for the player?

I am only interested in the ones where original Teclast C260 firmware has been applied to a clone or "emulator".

I suspect that a lot of people have been tempted and killed their players by this very risky move, If we could list here where this has been successful or more important NOT successful maybe we could prevent a lot of "upgrading" mistakes.

Default Re: Teclast C260 Look-Alike Question

To have a Teclast C260 emulator o "clone" ... is a great option, but it's risky... I would suggest it to try it just to those that have a backup for the firmware.
As I have succeeded in this i will give some hints to choose a Teclast C260 emulator.
1.- Try to buy a original Teclast
2.- Look if the unbranded manufacturer is promoting its device with the red menus of Teclast, beside of that:
3.- C260 doesn't have a speaker
4.- C260 have a micro SD slot (one of few Teclast players that have it)
5.- C260 have just two keys: POWER and ON/OFF, each one on each side.
6.- Thermal buttons (some users get to install and see firmware but key pad doesn't work).
7.- Buttons configuration: M on the top... >|| on bottom
8.- Buttons must show signs (M, >, <) with backlit not just lights
To have a Teclast firmware report more benefit than a normal rockchip firmware, as are constantly upgrading, adding new functions and has a good fansite for support (www.teclasters.com).
Nowadays Teclast is dealing with a better management of ID3 tag which has always been a drawback of rockchip players.

EDIT

The greatest Chinese distributor/manufacturer(?) of emulators or clones is here http://www.worldunify.com/
Almost every known player can be found here... "unbranded"
