which MP3 Utility do i need for my player?

I have a player that I bought on ebay from stoneswei. I have been told that I need a MP3 utility in order to open the firmware I downloaded. I went to the downloads and am unsure which tool I need. Does it matter?
I have firmware TJC_91NO1.bin downloaded. Can someone please help me?? I am learning this process slowly. LOL :!:

first of all, dont upgrade the firmware unless there is something wrong with the current one your using.


OR....

if your 100000% sure that the firmware you want to upload on your player will work on YOUR player, then go right ahead.

however, do some searching first because there is a 50/50 shot your could ruin your new player.

I am pretty sure that my player is dead. When I turn it on, i can go thru the different menus,but on all the menus except for radio and systems I get a blue screen with Disk Error on it. I am assuming that I have a dead player.If not someone please tell me what I need to do. As for the firmware, I am lucky to get into the system and check the firmware, The firmware i downloaded matches exactly to what my sytem said I am using. My problem is that I am unable to open the firmware that I downloaded to update it. My questions are Does Disk Error mean my player is dead? And what mp3 utility do i need to download to be able to open the firmware?

timeek2 , Disk Error usually indicates a firmware corruption that could be due to hacked memory, or poor firmware coding.

What i'll suggest first to do is to format the player using MP3 Utilities Disk Tool, the guide and relevant downloads are here http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-re...ck-vt2400.html

After formatting, see if you still encounter the Disk Error problems, if so, do a Windows Scandisk on it.

As what jo gobel mentioned earlier, in fact firmware "upgrades" are not just 50/50 chance, but i'll think of it as 99% chance of bricking your player. Even if the version matches exactly, it is very likely to be different. These player manufacturers do not practice proper versions control. Usually there could be tens or hundreds different variants of the same version.

Thank you for your help. My 8GB player is really a 961MB player. But it is working now. My son can listen to his own music again. Thanks for all your help.
