Default New Twist To The Hacked Memory Scam

OMG! This is really serious. Sellers on eBay selling hacked players have taken the scam to a whole new level. This article explains it all:

http://www.hackedmemoryscam.org/newtwist.html

Get this link to every forum and person you know. Hacked sellers are getting huge bids for hacked players. The people bidding have no idea they are fighting it out for a hacked 1GB player.

Thanks for the info Ashley. These scammers really piss me off. Hopefully this will prevent some from getting ripped off.

Absolutely scheming!

Perhaps i should include the seller's userid so that google or yahoo would pick up this thread and hopefully warn new buyers if they search for their userid.

100hitrate - Hacked players, read yellow fine prints at the bottom of ebay ad.

i'm still wondering what does the "Comp." in their ads mean.
"8GB Built-in Comp. Flash Memory"

Compatible?
Compromised?
Comp. i got you suckered! HAHA! ?

>> 2nd Gen. 1.5" Comp. 8GB MP3/MP4 player <<

Pretty amazing that these sellers would include all sorts of terms and conditions to avoid refunds. It's more like "ebay - the lucky draw site" and not an auction site.

Another question though, how much of the final bid price to differentiate between the "Fair", "Satisfactory", "Very Good", and "Excellent" qualities?

Pretty much even if you won it at $200, you'll still get a hacked 1GB player. If you question the seller after this, he'll probably say "Excellent" quality would need a bid of at least $500.

Why are clones called MP4 Players, when they don`t play .MP4 at all?
It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

Default Re: New Twist To The Hacked Memory Scam

I emailed Zeke tonight. He's the guy who has the site hackedmemoryscam.org

I asked him why he didn't put a link to the sellers doing it. He emailed me back saying he will put a link to the sellers. He had one in the article but took it out to put in the picture and never put it back. He will put it back later tonight.

He said there is only 1 seller now. There were 4 originally but 3 got kicked off eBay.

However, he suspects all 4 sellers were the same person. 100hitrate was reported at the same time as the other 3 sellers but only 100hitrate was not removed.
