older rkusb .. i was wondering the same
i found the rkusb tag reference after using a nex editor on the rkw file, if you do try this, look for a string like D:/rkusb.tag or similar, D being the main memory of the player also, i have seen a pic of the rockchip VX747 interface and it s different slightly, but no seler is using the proper pics, same old, same old ....... |

Re: NEW rockchip player (Rockchip RK27xx series) availabilit
i agree 100% with knob, if you are intent on buying a cheap unbranded MP4 player then at least get one of he newer chip player
if you are unsure, ASK first why??? because at the end of the day they are coming in around the same price more memory easily modded no firmware worries as can back up original some things still remain though BUY UNBRANDED EXPECT NO UPDATES these cheap no brand players are made for one reasom and one reason only, To make quick money, end of, the factories that make them ... not bothered as long as there is demand thy will make but like we say, if you want a cheap player that works ok then buy th latest chip player thankyou and goodnight :) |

Re: NEW rockchip player (Rockchip RK27xx series) availabilit
I again want to mention that there is a difference between Unbranded and "Public Brand" (or I shoud say, not all unbranded players are created equal). I posted this in another thread but I think it applies here. It is fine to buy an unbranded version of a player provided it really is an unbranded version of the same player as produced by the OEM of a name brand (Onda, Teclast for example). This type of unbranded player comes in generic packaging and without the name brand startup logo - that is unbranded-OEM. It is another thing to buy a "public brand" mp4 player. The "Public Brand" is what they call it in China when more than one (usually several) manufacturers make what is basically the same exact player, all sold without any kind of branding. They use the reference design for the PC board from the chip solution manufacturer (Rockchip for example) and they use the reference design for the firmware from them as well. Yes, these public brand players can be trouble and not worth the time and money for most although you might get lucky. It might be a good thing for people on this forum to review their public brand players as well as listing where they bought them. Just remember, since several people make what is essentially the same player and several vendors sell what looks like the same players, it might be difficult to buy the same player. I would put clones into this public brand category. I saw so many Teclast and Onda clones at CES Las Vegas back in January it was hard to keep track of them.

Another new player which promises to support album art, the Onda vx787:-
http://www.allpmp.info/images/d/d4/Onda_vx787_1.jpg It's got tv out too, I would actually like to see the album art on the player for real, it never appeared on the RAmos 970 in the end, is it really get a get album art or are we gonna be conned again? |
well its had one update already but no art and while that image on the uI looks like it may have some form of fLOW like the apple, it has not, its just a back image
and BTW - worst designed UI EVER really bad, they really have been hit with the daft stick here, all that screen space an they do not know how to use it!!!! album art may come later, we know it can be done as the s:lo and T50 do it brilliantly, better than the meizu player |
