Can anyone identify this player

hi,

i got a new 1GB (real capacity) mp4 player and i would like to know what chipset it is. the player exactly looks like this
Youtube - MP4 player

when i look at the firmware info in settings it says,
SOFTWARE IPOD V1.0A
HARDWARE DVT2.1
AUDIO V0.6.9

and the features it has are,
# 2.4-inch screen (240x320) TFT display
# 1.3 MegaPixels Digital Camera
# SD/MMC card slot - expands storage up to 4GB
# Listen to MP3 Music and Watch Videos in AVI
# Two earphone jacks
# FM radio
and the usual Built-in games; phone book; text file reader; photo slideshow

Windows XP detects it as Ankya

Re: Can anyone identify this player

Yup, I have one as well. It's now sitting on my desk dead. I need the firmware files but after trying several, I have had no luck. Pity cos it was pretty good while it worked. Eventually got so bad at loading and playing files that I formatted it and now cannot find the correct firmware or the player may have another fault. No name on it. very poor instructions. camera is about as much good as a concrete paracute. If you can download the firmware files, I would be interested in trying them on my dead player. Mine still has the screen protector on so its not more than 6 months old.
Best of seasons greetings.

the chipset is
Ankya

there are several firmwares on tis site for Ankya players but again as yours may be a no-brand player there is no real way to find which one is for your player

you may be best doing a search for Ankya to see peoples experiences of how to update these chipsets

as far as i know the player you have is not that good and many have bitten the dust for no reason other than being cheaply put together

have a look at this link

http://www.mympxplayer.org/mp4-playe...ighlight=ankya

but be warned as ever:

updating player firmware my kill your player - always proceed with caution, the moto is - if ain't broke don't try to fix it
