4GB player from Chinavasion?

Hi, I bought this Travelers 4gb MP4 player from Chinavasion. I asked for assurances that the unit was a true 4gb and that I could put 4gb of music video pictures on the unit. A Chinavasion rep assured me that I could not overwrite the firmware memory and that if I exceeded 4gb, the unit would simply report disk full.
Just to be on the safe side I decided to take a dump of the firmware and S1Clone reports the following:
----------------------
V9-device detected!
giveio version: 3.0
and
flashchip is a "Hynix/Samsung 2048 (LBF)" (protected=0)
----------------------

The 2048 has me worried. I have already put 1.6gb on it and am now afraid to exceed 2gb.
Do you think this is a hacked player?

Any help appreciated

There is only one way to know for sure. Follow the instructions posted here: http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-re...ck-vt2400.html

If your player is hacked it needs to be removed to ensure your player will work properly.

The other thing you can try is to fill up the player to the 4GB maximum, then make sure you can player all files without any error messages. That's the other way to make sure.

Even if you have 'intro play' running, it will play the first 10 seconds then move onto the next track. That should give you some assurance as well.

I haven't heard of anyone complaining about hacked players from Chinavasion before though if that reassures you abit more.
