Does anybody know where I can find the firmware for this player?

Thanks!

EDIT: OK, i've found something useful

Apparently, it's the model's name is HZ520. However, I still can't find a firmware to download.

Hello lipigl

This is one of the newer type generic Rockchip players.

Why do you need a firmware?
Is your player dead?

Hi Knob!!
It's not dead, but it has some bugs. There was a firmware file in the memory, i'll upload it in a minute. The MP4 displays this information: 2007-10-16, ver 01.08.1653). I'd like to know if there is a more recent version available.
I won't update it until I'm able to extract the firmware, but as far as I know, that's not possible at the moment...

This player's chip is Rockchip 2606
This is the firmware: ESR_HZ520_MLC_FM_HLE_2606_1x16_PLATFORM_071016.rfw
That's the one I currently have installed in my MP4 player.

hi lipigl

Did the firmware come on the cd with the player?

Be careful sometimes they put the wrong firmware on the cd.

The 2.4" rockchip should have a 2608 chip and a 2" rockchip has the 2606 chip.

The firmware file came on the player's flash memory. It looks like the HZ520. I found this web by searching for that model, and found a picture of it.

Here are some pictures of it, in case it helps you recognize the firmware:

mmm, then it should have the 2608 chip... and that firmware I uploaded isn't the right one... Well, I'll just wait until there's some New Rockchip Firmware Extracting application before messing up with the player...

Thanks!

I think they named the firmware wrong.

It should be named something like:-
ESR_HZ520_MLC_FM_HLE_2608_1x16_PLATFORM_071016.rfw

The firmware you uploaded is 2608 firmware for sure, i loaded it into Rklogoedit to check, and your player has a 2608 chip.

2608 firmware is usually about 15Mbytes and 2606 firmware is around 10Mbytes.

So, the firmware I have "might" be my player's?
As far as I could see with RKlogoedit, all the pictures seem to be the same as the ones loaded in the MP4 player (even that "DGTechnology" brand), so I think it actually is.
