Default Can't upload songs onto mp4 from honk kong

I am a single mom of a twelve year old who really wanted an ipod or a zune for her birthday. I got a mp4 player on ebay for a penny..(30.00 shipping) and she can't use it. I can't upload songs onto it at all. i thought maybe I just didn't know how to and i tried to contact the seller more than once with no response. I am SO ANGRY about this!!!!!

Is there anyway these things can work? Have any of you been successful with yours?

I couldn't and still can not afford a zune or an ipod so she now has nothing and we are both very dissapointed.

Hi, unfortunately many sellers of mp players on eBay are scammers who sell players with hacked memory. The first thing I would suggest you do is follow the instructions posted here:How To Removing a Memory Hack

If the memory turns out to to smaller than advertised, the second thing, since you bought it off of eBay, is file a dispute through Paypal (if you paid that way) stating the item is not as described or non working whichever the case may be.

How are you putting the music on the player? Most you can copy and paste the music directly to the player and do not have to use Windows Media or iTunes.

Hi cass,

Hopefully we can help you out with your problem.

booboo773 has made some good suggestions so I would try that.

Like booboo773 mentioned, most of these players are similar to a USB memory stick/key when plugged into the computer. Windows should detect it as another "removable drive".

Some questions for you:
1. Does your computer detect your player at all?
2. If not, what error messages come up?
3. What version of Windows do you have as well by the way? If it's older than Windows 2000, you will need drivers for it.

Look forward to hearing from you.
