Discussion about Operating Systems
I've watched admin's video
about Bill Gates and Microsoft, so... Have you heard about Macintosh? This computer with Mac OS X operation system: (that I'm using now :P) : 1) Have not crashes! (Windows have uncountable) 2) Have not viruses! (Windows have 125 thousands) 3) Have not problems with hardware! (PC-based computers have) 4) Have a very big amount (25000) of coolest programs that haven't any analogs on Windows. 5) Have a very powerful hardware and a low price! And it can run programms for Windows in case. If you'll make some research you will notice with pleasure that with those temps (people are caming from Windows to Macintosh and Linux) Windows will COMPLETELY disappear in 2020-2025 year! |
Re: Operation Systems
Keep dreaming! Macs are still an insignificant portion of the market share
> 5) Have a very powerful hardware and a low price! > low price Definitely not! |
Macs have 5 percent of the market.
But I don't look at this seriosly! If they're REALLY much better than PC, they WILL capture the market! Have you seen Vista defeat? This is a beginning of Microsoft crash! Macs have no viruses, crashes, errors and hardware problems! They are BETTER! We will face the victory! They aren't expensive! As you see, Apple just doesn't making slow computers! Even the most cheap Macbook have 2 GHz Core 2 Duo, NVidia Great Video Adapter, 4 Gb of operation memory and other! HOORAY! APPLE ETHERNAL! |
I agree Vista was the beginning of MS's decline, and i've also played with Windows 7 pre-beta, and it's just another Vista, just a little bit tweaked, they should've called it Vista SP2.
But the world isn't heading for Macs it's heading for Linux. Why? FREE. And... 20 inch iMac. 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo 1GB memory 250GB hard drive 8x double-layer SuperDrive ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT with 128MB memory $1200. My computer: 2.33GHz Core 2 Duo @ 3.5GHz 8GB DDR2-1000 320GB hard drive 16x/48x double-layer DVD/CD writer drive, 16x/52x double-layer DVD/CD reader drive ATI Radeon HD3870 with 512MB memory 19" Nokia CRT (give up CRTs? NEVER!!!) $900. So... yeah. Macs are better and cheaper... yea, sure. |

Granted:
OS X 10.5 vs. Vista = Vista FAIL OS X 10.5 vs. Windows XP = XP FAIL ... but Apples all have the same hardware as PCs these days, with significant (significant! like 3x+ the price!) markup. Macs are better but not cheaper. I hate the UI restrictions, but yeah... otherwise, it's not even a debate. Personally, I prefer linux. :P |
Re: Discussion about Operating Systems
We can discuss this for ages and everyone has their own opinions and preferences.
The last time I used a Mac was many years ago back at University. I've always been a Windows user mainly because I understand it. There are advantages and disadvantages for and against a Mac and a Windows O/S. Then there is also personal preference as well. My reasons for going with Windows is (remember this is just MY personal reasons): 1. It has a large majority. Therefore there will be a lot more support for it as well as discussion and help relating to Windows on the internet. 2. There is a very good chance that the next job I go into, they will use Windows. I'm not going to be the one that goes "how to do this in Windows again?". 3. A large majority of software is written with Windows in mind and is more compatible. 5. Drivers are easier to find in Windows over Linux drivers. Those are just my personal opinions and there will be someone who will probably say otherwise. |
Re: Discussion about Operating Systems
Just read a one from the large number of positive reviews
and you will understand me! http://www.macdigi.com/bbs/viewthrea...1&authorid=770 |
The Macbook Pro is one of the good Mac laptops, and comparable in price with high-end Windows-based laptops.
But just look at the Apple Forums - so many people have problems with the Macbook Air and other Apple laptops. As for that review, that huge dip appearing in HD Tune at the beginning signals a faulty drive. Transfer rates should NEVER go that low on a new HDD. When it comes to premium prices i'd rather pay them for a Sony Vaio than for a Macbook. |
