Default Replacing original batery - RK2706

Hi guys

I'd like to know if some of you have tried to change the original battery of RK2706? My mp5 has an battery with the same voltage and size of nokia's mobile phone since those batteries used in our mp5 don't work for so long, I think it would worth a try to change. What do you think?

I readed in this forum that someone replaced the original battery with an ipod nano one and get double playing time with is mp3 player. Can't remenber who this was. Just check the voltage, the allowed place (to dont buy a too big battery) and then the more mA you'll have, the more playing time you'll get. That's what i understood. Wait for getting confirmation from a more experienced person than me

I did a how-to that might be of some help, it's for a generic rockchip but the principle is the same

You can fit any battery that will physically fit in the case. Provided it is one cell only (3.7 volt nominal). But there's the possibility that the charging circuit is hardwired for the capacity (mAh) of the original and putting in a larger battery could confuse it.

Probably the charger doesn't have that much intelligence so the only effect would be longer charge time.

If you change the battery just be careful about avoiding shorts. Lithium batteries sometimes respond to abuse by blowing up.
