Default MicroSDHC - The Last Chance !

A lot of people are saying that 2Gb memory card
is the biggest capacity you can use in your player.

Because there are no MicroSD cards with 4Gb, only MicroSDHC.

But may be my player supports it?

All basic players have FAT16 hard drive. MicroSD 2Gb is FAT16.
FAT16 is for memory smaller than 4Gb.
FAT32 is for 4Gb cards.
Is that true that these basic players can't work with MicroSDHC 4GB
ONLY because their firmware does not supports FAT32 file system?

But luckily my player has 4Gb hard drive and FAT32 file system!
That means that my player's firmware supports FAT32!

So, is that possible that my player can handle 4GB MicroSDHC - Fat32?

My player has MicroSD slot, not MiniSD.

I've already notice several facts:
 There are no MicroSD not HC cards with 4GB
 All MicroSDHC cards are FAT32
 The main difference (only difference :?: :?: :?: ) between MicroSD and MicroSDHC is that MicroSD is FAT16, and MicroSDHC is FAT32
 Most players have FAT16 file system
 Most players don't support FAT32 file system
 Most players don't support MicroSDHC (because they don't support FAT32 :?: :?: :?: )
 My player has FAT32 file system, so it supports FAT32 :!:

So, is that possible that my player can handle MicroSDHC?

hi WIZARD

RK27xx series players will support SDHC, but RK26xx series firmware doesn't, it's just not that simple as FAT16 and FAT32, the firmware must support SDHC and 2608 players don't , sorry!

You can try it if you want! , you may prove me wrong!

The chances are 50/50.
I must find somebody with MicroSDHC card to test,
because I don't want to waste money.
There are several ways found in the Internet how to make the MicroSDHC working with old devices,
but you'll be able to read-only.
It will not stop me, because only the operations I can do on my player are to read and delete the files.
Why I need 4Gb cards?
It's very hard to change the cards, because the MicroSD slot is behind the battery, which is very hard to replace.
But don't worry, I'm using this tool:

P.S. If you'll find 4GB non-HC MicroSD cards, please PM me...

Non-SDHC 4-GB cards do not conform to either standard and if they work in your device it is only by accident. The fault is in the original SD specification which could have gone up to 32G but they arbitrarily decided that 2 gigs should be enough for anybody.

The whole thing is another example of idiots being left in charge of the store.

AFAIK there is no such thing as 4G non-SDHC Micro-SD card. Hardly anybody is making any sort of non-SDHC card anymore, they just really only sort of work. I found that the only way I could use it was to format the card and then copy everything I wanted on it all at once. Anything copied at a later time showed as being there but actually was not accessible.
