Default another 8Gb RK27SDK player with issues!

Click the image to open in full size.

So I have joined the group of people who buy players via ebay from china/HK

this one cost £60 and two days old with issues!

Product RK27SDK
ID 2.2
Hardware ID 080722
8Gb

Already the battery is flat within moments of a full charge, of two windows machines I have, it will only talk to one, and disconnects itself frequently.

I am led to believe this has to do with the number of chunks it can communicate with, windows uses too many bits of data at a time and this bad boy wont have it!

the radio will not tune in despite being set to europe.
the build quality is terrible, the case screws are loose as can be.
Some avi movies will not transfer to the device with the device disconnecting itself half way thro transfering, then its impossible to delete the partial file left behind on the player.

i have sent an email to the sellers saying i want it returned but i bet they come back and say no, because i junked the pacakging that the headphones came in....

I set windows to reformat in FAT so i could delete partial files that did not transfer, I am wondering if this format did damage to the machine, i have yet to find the hidden partition and actually will likely throw this player in the junk pretty soon....

Its been on charge for four hours but the battery indicator says it is empty! it was on charge last night until it said full, an hour later it is empty too!

its nice to be part of a forum where everyone is suffering rockchip issues!

have a nice day

edit:
this link talks about the data transfer speed when a player suddenly disconnects from the computer

http://www.mail-archive.com/git-comm.../msg21253.html

quote:
The MP3/MP4/AVI player "Rockchip ROCK MP3" is seen as a USB disk, but fails if more than 128 sectors (64kB) are sent or requested in a single read or write command, and disconnects from the USB bus.

¿Have you tried with another USB cable?

Maybe yours is bad, not an uncommon thing for these players...

Yes, definitely; I have several of those cheap USB cables that have broken wires in them and work only intermittently. Disconnecting abruptly in the middle of a file transfer can make disaster for the player's flash. Be careful. Try a new cable for sure before you bin the thing.
