Default Firmware suggestion

Hi,

Could someone please suggest a newer firmware for a device i bought from ASDA (UK) (Walmaart (US)),

The player is called Curtis MPK7836UKA (4GB)
Ver: 00.00.0004
Date: 11/08/2008

This device runs really slowly. . . also doesnt seem to support ID3 Tags. . . .does a device need a licence to support ID3 tags?
Thanks

Beanie

From the firmware id it seems your player is a rockchip rk26xx player.
Can you post a photo of your player to be sure?
Don't mess with the firmware, if it's a rockchip you will kill it for sure.

It should support ID3 tags, without any licence.
Try using ID3v1 tags only and remove any ID3v2 tags. It works ok then on my 2606 rockchip.
