Personally, I prefer the Teclast C500HD H.264 Decoding HDMI Out MP4 Player - 8GB player for these reasons:

1. It has the larger 5" in screen - nice for viewing videos and reading ebooks
2. It can play more video formats as well.
3. It has HDMI output as well.

Would be nice to eventually see these players having Wi-Fi and internet access. So you can connect to it directly through WiFi without having to find that USB cable, disconnecting and reconnecting. Also web surfing would be cool to see so that means you can view YouTube videos directly on the player :). Hopefully something like that may come out soon....

I have a personal preference for 4.3" screens. Well I haven't actually gotten my hands on such a device, but they seem to still be "pocketable" enough. Although I could make an exception for my upcoming purchase since I really just want something that plays vids with video out.

And I'm sure wifi PMPs will start coming out within the next few months... maybe. Teclast had that T58 with Android, although nothing new has been said bout that for a while. The Chuwi W3000 and SmartQ5 are both 5" MIDs that would kinda be in the PMP realm... would they? LOL, not really sure, but at least its a trickle that should create a flow of Wifi enabled PMPs, especially in the Chinese market.

What does everyone else think about the players?
Would be interested to hear your thoughts so I would like to run this competition so that the winner can hopefully get their prize just in time for Christmas! :)

just a note to those looking at the VX575 and VX585 0 there are more voes or the 585 but the 575 is actually the better spec player

The specs on house of dap are wrong
main chip on both players is SOCHIP not SIGMATEL

the vx575 is 5" 800x480 screen
the VX585 is 4.3" 480X272 screen and NOT 5.3 and 800x480 as HOD states

these are the correct specs from onda site

Both player are essentially the same abilities wise but the VX575 is the higher spec - so not sure if some have voted for 585 based on wrong specs

Guess where the single vote for the vx575hd came from. Primarily because of the 2800 mAh battery, not because of the sc8600.

It is my considered opinion that sellers are too lazy and/or incompetent to supply essential information, such as this, on which to base a purchase.

After all, it's in the specs from the factory.

There's only been 9 voters so far and I KNOW there are more members than just 9!
So come on everyone, get involved and vote on a player you want to see as a prize!

Binh@MyMPx 13th Dec 2009 11:39 pm

HI everyone,

Due to the votes, the winning prize will be:

Onda VX585 HD Player 1080i/720P HDMI Out 4.3 inch LCD

makd511 14th Dec 2009 1:55 am

Thanks Boss - shame really as the 575 is a slightly better spec player with sharper screen and i am sure (can u check) that the 585 does not come with remote or tv out cables

cheers - looking forward to the competition
