HouseofDAP and MyMPx - Your opinions on a Prize
Hi everyone,
After numerous discussions with the admin of HouseofDap.com, they would like to sponsor a competition for MyMPx.org members. HoD also reassured us that they are here to stay and support their products and hopefully assist with the forum posts in the near future. So, I would like to hear your opinions on them sponsoring a Meizu M6 TS MP4 Player White - 4GB as a prize for a competition for everyone. - Do you agree with giving HouseofDap.com a chance to sponsor a prize for a competition? - Do you like the player? Or would you prefer another player? If members prefer a different player, I would look at paying for the difference with the Meizu M6 and the other player. well for a start its the best player china has produced for audio -its crap on video though
this is a great player so problems with the prizes EXCEPT that its a 4GB model - you need to get them to sponsor a 8GB for definite as this has no expansion slot i think many on here may prefer a video big screen player possibly, like the new T11RK thats really good and an 8GB model is only a few dollars more and HOD can run to that i am sure :) anyway, at the end of the day its marketing, this is why HOD want to be on here offering services, so their name is mentioned and people visit the site - if you admin are happy to stand by HOD and essentially promote them then i see no problem, what i do think should not be done is to give them their own section on this forum like before as that would be unfair to other seller of these devices and you would then have some responsibility if anything went wrong again -they now have their own forum to offer support to their customers i dont really see why now they would need their own spot on this site -if they want to offer their help to stranded users then they should do it as a normal member like me or other and not as HOD - just my opinion let companies sponsor competition by all means but don't give any site an open marketing platform is my opinion |
mmm .. seems digitalkingz has also joined the party - this is what i mean, it becomes or has the potential to become a marketing stratergy for sellers
if its going to be like this then you need really to have a section for a marketplace where you maybe list all approved sellers so they all get equal bidding in which they can provide support within that section admin - i think your site may be becoming a free advertising banner for shops and i dont think that is fair on you |
Yes DigitalKingz did sign up to mympx.org is that wrong? I have only maid 3 post all offering support or suggestion. I have not mentioned any thing about the Digital Kingz store & I don't plan to.
If you was just a regular unbiased member I would understand, but you are not the truth is you are the man aka Mr Mp4nation. What I mean is you are the person who maid Mp4 nation who they are today razz could not have done it with out you. You are the reason that a lot of people buy from mp4 nation you do great designs for them, great themes, awesome forum support the blog and probably more. If you are not on the payroll then you need to be. Not to mention that mp4 nation got a lot of members from mympxplayer, because of you. If some one ask about getting a player the 1st thing you say is mp4 nation people trust you. So even if you are not getting paid by mp4 nation you are still working for them. makd511 in no way I'm i trying to put you down you have done an amazing job for mp4 nation. Now let me make sure I understand you if I sign up as digitalkingz and just enjoy the community offer support & suggestions. if people get familiar with me and visit DK That is wrong? Now if I sign up as Joe blow and offer support & suggest to ever one that is looking for a mp4 player to go to my store that's ok? Mp4 nation got most of its customers & forum members from what you are trying to stop. HOD was around along time ago then they screwed up so what. When you say they should not get there own forum because it will be unfair to other seller of these devices are you talking about Mp4 nation. If so that's a great power move you must protect your but first. They do not need no more shine then they already have lol. Binh if the HOD competition will help your site keep growing, keep your members active & they stand behind the product and obligation I don't see a problem with it. I do agree with you makd511 a 4GB is out of style but it's still a very good free prize. Some one may win it who don't have a mp3 player. |
DK - i see where you are coming from and i see your point - my reasoning for what i said, and this includes mp4nation (BTW i think you big me up far to much there but appreciated) that as store owners you should be on here in some form or another, if not to just get the message out about crap ebay players and get buyers pointed to proper stores like yours. I have always tried, to defend a little here, - to mention many different stores as well as the nation to exactly eliminate the very thing you pointed out and i just about always mention all the store i have bought from only(usually), i did this on purpose as to not be pulled up on touting for business for the nation - where i do point specifically to that place is usually with regards to a post on the forums about player problems or solutions
no, back to point, i think my main point was that stores and owners should be here but it is advertising and as such you should sort the admin out with advertising fees etc and then you could tout for business in a legit manner and admin gets his cut - when epeople like me and other users mention the stores then thats not a problem but i do feel that store owners should pay admin for the privilige of being here, if not then maybe registering under a name that is not the store name may be better - just thoughts is all and PLEASE do not think in any way i was aiming any form of store rivalry at you or HOD - if u saw it that way then i apologise and i wordedit all wrong - just thinking really of this place and the great job admin does and getting someway for all toy have a fair share BTW i was going to contact you about your new G5 and shipping to the UL so watch for an email - oh and you can donate one of those Binh - if you thought in anyway i was working this angle in favour of mentioned store then please say so, though i always thoiught is was impartial on these forums and gave many shops equel mention |
makd511 cool i gotcha oh by the way we are working on adding album art to the G5. just to let you know at DK we are not into any store rivalries the truth is there are to little good reliable stores & sellers, but there are millions of scam artist, bad ebay sellers, bad stores selling crap or hacked products. That could make us all look bad.

I appreciate both your comments and want to post a reply here. First things first is that this site (as well as MyMPxPlayer.org) will always remain neutral and independent. I value the integrity of this site and the valuable information it provides to everyone. I know that members trust this site and I don't want to break that trust by favouring any one party - that is not the intention of this site. Secondly, the decision to have UXcell.com and HouseofDAP.com (now redundant) sections in the forum was to filter out posts that were relating to them. I wanted to put them into their respective categories so it doesn't get jumbled up with the other posts but yes, I can see your point of view on how that can be unfair for other sellers. I will rethink this and will have to move UXcell.com's section of the forum to somewhere else..... Thirdly, I am cautious on who I bring on as a sponsor for this site. What I tend to do is read members' post and monitor what is being written. I generally read the forum posts at least once a day (sometimes wife and kids and work can get the better of me and I miss a day or two). If there are any negative or positive posts about a seller, then I keep an eye out on what is being written and who writes it. If there are good feedback on a seller and after some time (this is to avoid a sudden flood of dodgy posts about one particular seller trying to self promote), then I will consider asking them to sponsor a contest or competition. I certainly don't go around emailng every MP4 seller/supplier/manufacturer out there asking for sponsorship. I would rather hear it from the member what they are like firstly before approaching. Fourthly, I am against self promotion. If I see a forum post promoting a store/seller then I will delete it, no questions asked. If I see it in a signature as well, it will be removed. This forum is not for that and is against the rules. If it happens again, their account is disabled/deleted, along with their posts. Don't worry makd511 if I see any of your posts that are inappropriate, they will be edited or removed. So far, I'm happy with what you write and value your opinions. You've been on the site long enough and if you did break the rules, you would know about it :). Trust me, this will will never become a free banner advertising spot for anyone. I'm happy with people providing support and helping out one another - that's what this site is all about but I don't tolerate people who self promote. I have given warnings and have asked nicely to some who have contributed to not self promote and that has gone well. I want to see this site go on for many years to come and don't want to see it die due to this that's for sure. I hope this explains it for some. I do hope that more people do post their feedback on the player and whether it will be a good prize. |

at the end of the day i have a meizuM6 player and i use it every day, it is a great mp3 player, no doubt about that and if there is a chance for anyone to win one FOC that its a damn fine offer and no mistake - just such a damn shame that meizu have opted out of mp3/4 players to make a pointless iphone clones (albeit a good one), this player is old, but dont let that deter you, its a great audio player and one of the best ones to come from china -and its super slim and sexy to boot :) its not a video player though, well it does video but it aint good at it, cheap rockchip player are better at video but this player excels in build, style, sound quality and all round amazingness - i would seriously cry if anything happened to mine and they are becoming harder to get hold of now |
