Looking for reliable brand
Hi, I'm looking for a mp4/mp5 player with at least a 4" touch screen for under $100. The only ones I can find are, of course, from Hong Kong and it makes me leery buying overseas. Can anyone recommend a good brand or model?
Thanks in advance. --Bill |

As you would know that the manufactures of these clones are not known at all. So the brand name carries no meaning at all. They are made in China and sold to the world through internet mostly from Hong Kong. But they are not Bad Machines, the production quality is better than the REAL ones when it comes to repair. I am telling you this from experience as a micro-electronic personal practically involved in PCB design. they use good quality parts such as "Action" and "Hynix" semiconductors. But there is one problem, and that is the storage space..... if it states that it is a 32Gb .. it might have only 2Gb ...no one knows. And that hacks need to be fixed, it is simple and many ideas are available through this forum. You should know that anything more than 2Gb is not practically possible in that small price we pay for these GISMOS. I hope this will help you to make your mind Mabboseg |

You can try an Onda VX585 from HouseofDap.com.
It has a 4.3" screen player and under the $100 mark you were looking at. Plus they sponsored this player as a prize on this site. Take a look here: [http://www.houseofdap.com/onda-vx585-hd-player-1080i-720p-hdmi-out-4-3-lcd-8gb.html] http://www.houseofdap.com/media/cata...vx585hd_01.jpg Here is the review from the member who won the player: http://mympx.org/forum/reviews/44994-review-onda-vx585hd-houseofdap-com.html There are also players from MP4Nation.net as well which you may want to consider. Both are pretty good and reliable sellers as well. Well, there is always a risk when you're ordering online and not from a local store, but it tends to be cheaper. So it's just a matter of whether you want to pay the extra for the 'comfort' of dealing with a local retailer. Hope that helps. |
