It's probably RK2608 player, or similar. It's for sure not RK27XX. Also It's weird that it appears to be 16GB player, I haven't meet a player with such a big amount of memory using chip worse that rk27. I may be wrong though

Thanks 4 getting back to me flasher. it is version # 1018_090212_DEV_TP_CM_OV_S (whatever that means) Just ran the test and found out it's only about 1.8 gb's. Gotta find out how to reformat the thing so It will work Properly...!! Oh yeah and just received a full refund from the crooks after giving them 24 hours or threatening to take action...!

I also have one of these on the way. Is there any way of finding the chip type that is hardcoded and can be read by some tool?

Many thanks for the all the help and tips on this site, it will prove invaluable.

You pop off the back of the untit and all your id info should be there. In the meantime i suggest u start looking 4 firmware for an ATJ2137N chip my camera id is 0307a 1002w and it's a samsung K9GAG08U0M PCBO. I can't find any lcd id anywhere maybe these don't have one!
