Hacked memory on MP4 player. Help?

I bought an MP4 player off ebay from a Chinese seller, who now has had their account closed, presumably because of stuff like this. The MP4 player they advertised as 32GB can only store 4, apparently. After a lot of searching I found out I might be able to restore it to 32GB following this guide:

How To: Removing Memory Hack

Thing is, I'm having problems. Only one of the download links [the oldest version] actually had MP3 player disk tool in it. Any time I've tried to use that program, it's not been able to see the MP4 player, even when my Windows Vista computer can.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me get this guide working for me, or if they can suggest any other ways to recover this hacked memory. Thanks a million!
