Does anyone know what this mp4 player is? (YouTube Embed)

Hey,

I've recently been given this interesting MP4 player from someone, which was included in some weight loss program. I have no idea what it is, but all the music and videos are in a hidden partition (tried the RockChip hacks with no results).

Strangely enough, the player is able to run AVI files (the videos are in that format).

Thanks guys

Yes, that's the one, but can anyone tell what device it is from the look of it, and the UI?

use ChipGenius, you can download it somewhere on this site. you're going to have to look for it yourself, i can't do all the work for you.

ChipGenius will tell you what the firmware is and what chipset the system runs on. once you know more you can find out if you can format it & change it up or not.

Sorry for the delay, I finally got access to a computer with Windows on it.

Chip Vendor, as well as Chip part-Number comes up as (no match record).

The Product Vendor is XM791NB. Googled it, no results.

Should I just crack it open? Would there be anything of use in there?

I cracked open the case. It's a RockChip RKNano. Now to find out what to use to get the partition :D

i'm interested in seeing where this may go.

throw some good quality pictures of the chips (cpu, memory, harddrive if there is one, etc.)

list all information exactly as it looks on them, too. all numbers on the CPU, etc. there are different models of the rockchip cpu you list. knowing what version of it will help, and knowing the memory will help find out how it's partitioned.

basically though, what do you want to accomplish here? does the unit play mp3's and videos you put on it right now, or does it only play WHAT is already on it, and thats why you need partition information?

post pictures of the unit, too. try to borrow a good camera if you can.
