Here is something I had been following for awhile - the Android phones which already has the same functions as the PMP - such as movie playback, music playback, photo display etc...... I mean, you get all the same features as the PMP but with the added function of being able to make phone calls as well. Nowadays, pretty much everyone carries a cellphone/mobile phone. Why carry a PMP with you as well if you can get the Android phones that can function as a PMP but also is your phone?

Take a look at some of these for example:

just be careful with those phones, many are running on CPU that are far too slow for multi-media and thus all the perceived advantages are gone - you essentially are getting aphone with a flashy interface with a serious lack of power - android does like powerful hardware and most of the cheap chinese phones are all image without substance - i have tabs that have more cpu power than these phones and it struggles with many apps - my opinion avoid the phones if u want anything more than a phone

I tend to agree. I have always steered clear of these cheap phones for fears about quality and power.

I like gadgets but I'm a bit old fashoned regarding phones, I still prefer to use my old bulky black and white screen Nokia rather than integrate too much funtionality in one device.
I like to have a reliable phone at hand in case I need it in a hurry or emergency, but thats just me being paranoid.
