Default iPix Player - Firmware or dead?

I picked up one of these @ a thrift store for $6, but then found out that the company that makes them no longer exists.

Apparently you could download kids tv shows from ipixplayer.com and load them on the player, but the website no longer exists.

Is there any chance it may be resurrected by flashing the firmware?

I googled the part numbers, which directed me to this site, maybe someone can read one of the serial #'s off the chips?

There isn't much information available online about this player,
