Replacement parts

Does anyone know if it's possible to get replacement parts for these generic mp4 players? I had mine in my pocket the other day, leaned across the desk to grab something, and cracked the "protective" glass that sits over the LCD...the screen still works, it's just the glass is broken. If it helps, I have one of these: http://www.mympxplayer.com/album_showpage.php?pic_id=56

Guest, One of the drawbacks of these players is the lack of after sale support. Trying to get a firmware from a supplier is like pulling teeth, I should imagine getting parts would be practically impossible without a contact to a manufacturer.

Hey guest, I might be able to help you with that. I know someone who gets the mp4 players directly from the manufacturer. Email me at nktech (at) gmail (dot) com and ill give you the contact information for the guy.

tadad is correct though, after sales support isn't the best in the world with these mpx players. I guess that's why this site's done so well :) Though we don't get paid for it....

I can probably get this for you too as I have contacts with manufacturers. Probably need more information from you about your player though. If you can send me (PM) photos of your player, that would help and I'll see what I can do.

Do bear in mind though, to replace the part, you will probably need to open up the casing yourself and then put it back together again. Should be easy but as a word of warning in case it's 'trickier' than expected and you might end up with a 'spare part' or 'spare screw' extra.....

Some friend of mine have managed to fix the protective glass with a "Clock repairer man", and it was really cheap.. ^^
You should try it! =]

Re: Replacement parts

You can also try to open it and ask a glass manufactor to do one with the same dimensions...shouldn´t be a big deal for them.....them if you cannot glue it, take to a clock store, and they might fix it....

this is what I was going to do if the player was mine.

best regards

I have the very same probably except I have a 2GB nano like player. sounds like getting a new piece of glass is a good solution. except.. I have not sure where about I could actually get this done and I'm afraid that the LCD screen might get incredibly scratched.. I don't know what I'm going to do..

Also.. it seems like my screen might have been slightly chipped by the glass (or plastic, i think it's plastic) does it really matter? because there's not much difference though.

Contact that person and you can get a brand new one for $38
