FM Radio Interference
 

I'm noticing that when I turn my MP4's FM radio to about 76.8Mhz (Japanese Band) I'm getting a lot of interference from the DAP, especially when I use the menus and scrolling. I tried it with my friend's Sansa and it did the same thing (but less). Anyone know what this is?

Bugmenot-User , if i'm not wrong, the US radio broadcasting range is 88-108MHz. 76.8MHz lies in the TV broadcasting range (Channels 5-6). More info about the frequency range Here.

So technically, tuning in to 76.8MHz, you'll be actually receiving TV broadcast signals. But due to the player's FM chip unable to demodulate the incoming signal, you'll just hear a bunch of static noises.

Japan uses a different set of frequency range, so their radio receiver are of different range as compared to the rest of the world. For whatever reason, i don't know..

I have a nano clone with 4GB and file browsing too .. But i keep getting corrupted files, and format errors in those files .. I heard that 4GB players don't exist, and they are actually hacked chips.

Are u having any problems with your player? How did u find out so much about your player? Where can i find out details about the firmware etc. of my player too?

Format your clone and you'll find out what its true capacity will be.
Use Window's formatting and not the software that came with it.

bibhash , you will need to format your player as 4GB nano-clones do not exists physically yet.

However, rather than using Windows to format as amnman had suggested, as usually Windows will still read and format it as 4GB. The idea of the memory hack is to trick the Windows operating system into thinking it is 4GB, so formatting using Windows will still not remove the hack.

Use the MP3 Utilities Disk Tool that either came on the cd with your player, or download from the forum.

To further verify your player's memory, you can open up the player and check the memory chip's serial number against the manufacturer.
