Spiders hatching out while you're away would be terrible. They might jumpstart the car and drive away!
The spray might still be lingering in the airducts when you drive it and then you'd be inhaling it, so I wouldn't go crazy with the spray. Don't have an alternative plan though as I don't have that problem here.
Also, there may not be spiders in NZ, but I remember that there was a big problems with Kea's in the South Island. They had a taste for rubber and windshield weatherstripping! How do you defend against that?!

Ahhh... i just wanna go home..

i've decided to leave a whole bottle of moth balls in the car. i think that would be enough to take out a human if he/she were to sleep in the car overnight.. haha..

But to the daring spiders who dare to venture into the car, they'll be dead if i see 'em. hoho..

OK! An update from the spider problem!

i've just arrived back in Adelaide yesterday, reconnected the car battery, checked all the fluids (amazingly all full, no leaks).

Cranked twice and unable to start.

So i decided to choke the engine a couple of times, and on the third attempt, the engine rev-ed.. Woo Hoo.. Pretty good for a car that has not been started for more than 2 months.

Now back to the topic.. Lotsa spider webs all around the car! As i walked to the car, there were webs between the car door/wheels to the side pillars. yucks!! i'm still not very sure if there are any spiders living inside the car, seems that there are no webs within the car itself. Which at the moment seems good news.

As mentioned, the car is like completely covered with dust and webs. It could do with a good wash!

So i'll be monitoring the car for any spider signs.
