how do i get money to buy a new nano clone?
 

Ok, 2 weeks ago I posted about my player not being able to turn on because the switch was broken. I need to save up to buy a new one. Today my dad bought me 5 cases that fit my player. He tried turning it on and I told him it ran out of battery. I need to replace my player but I don't have the money. Right now I have 11 USD that I have been saving for some time. I would like to get a 1gb player to replace my 2gb. My dad will never know. It needs to have a 1.5 inch screen.
How will I get the money in time. Does anybody know any sites for making money online? I'm only 13 and I don't know my dad's paypal acount id because he changed it. I could ask him. I'm already working my butt off at 2 sites. mylot.com and slashmysearch.com
I've already missed 2 parties to work at those sites, and I only make like 50 cents a day. Can somebody send me a little bit of money over paypal or something? I need 20 more dollars. I've made 3 bucks on myLot. I don't get allowance. What should I do? Plz don't tell me to tell my dad, you guys don't know my dad. Even if somebody bigger and stronger than me took it and broke it, it would be the same as me dropping it in a glass of water.

You say in your post you are 13, but your user profile saids you are 18 years old..... I'm alittle confused.

I remember what it's like to be 13 years old and trying to find money. I remember at 13 years old, I was doing newspaper deliveries and picking tomatoes from a grower down the road. Getting paid sh*t money for delivering newspaper in the rain and cold wasn't the best thing, but it still made me money. I didn't get the minimum pay at that age too. Student rates was about half the minimum adult rate.

Have you thought about getting a part time job? I think making money for yourself builds character and a real appreciation for money. Working 2-3 hours picking tomatoes and only getting getting a few bucks for it, makes you really appreciate the money you got from it.

I even stocked shelfs at the local department store when I was young too. Just anything and everything to save abit of money all helps and adds up in the end.

Ask your parents to help out with chores and get alittle money for it? Mow the money for a couple of bucks for your parents? I'm sure they'll appreciate the help as well.

With regards to those websites, are you an affiliate with them and get paid for using their services, is that right? Or something else?

Those are only suggestions and hopefully they might help. Not sure what the employment laws are in your country but we are allowed to work at the age of 13 years old. Crap jobs though, but at least it's some way of getting money.

First off I think your full of shit!. If you are really that worried about it I offered you a way to receive the exact same player as you have now even a 2GB player to make a video of you smashing your piece of crap you have now. You replied by saying OH ya I will smash it and make the video and the video will be posted here tomorrow. Then no video or you for days. Now you say please someone send me money to my Paypal "wait you have your own Paypal account?" But in this post you say you would use your dads but don't know his info. I think he would be more pissed off to find out that you went into his Paypal account then finding out your player is broken. Duh!. Do you really think we are all that damn stupid?. And even if your working them websites and making 50 cents a day it would take you forever to make enough to get a player and besides that I just went and read those websites and they wont even payout until you earn $50 or more. So it all sounds like a big ball of stinky shit to me. :lol:

my dad let me use his acount to sign up for mylot, that has a minimum payout of 10 dollars. slashmysearch.com has a minimum payout of 50 dollars. yes alot.

I didn't realise you had a discussion with your dad about getting paid for the chores.

You said he's bought 5 cases already. Can you tell him to return it and you would gather use that money to save for something else? I'm sure you don't need 5 cases. One would be enough.

I would consider asking around the local stores to see if they have any part time work or checking the local paper. A job might be a way to go to get abit of money.

I don't believe in the 'get rich quick' schemes around the internet. If there was, then everyone would be rich but we're all not.

Here's an idea, what about selling stuff you don't need anymore? Music CD's, games, DVD's, stuff you don't use anymore.

He bought the cases off of ebay for 6 dollars including the shipping. I could definately sell em for quite a bit of money.

Well the things I did for money when I was 13:
1---Collect door-to-door old newspapers, sold them to a paper recycling unit, 2 cents a kilo, but hey, it adds up.
2---Rip old abandoned houses of led pipes, rain sinks, the led used on the bottom of window panes, the same for copper pipes, sold them at a metal recycling shop. Made way more money.
3---Wash cars for neighbors, fast money!
4---In wintertime, clear sidewalks and entry lawns from snow for money (do some old folk's driveway's for free, work on your karma)
5---Birthdays are a great way to collect, ask money "coz you are saving up for something nice". Ask money for a movie or whatever you do on weekends, don't go to the theater of course, you want to save, right?

Trade in your dad for something else, if you are afraid to mention your bad luck, what to do if anything bad of real importance happens to you, will he beat you up???
Serious: why not just walk up to him and say: "dad I can't start up my chipod, I think it just died, is there a warranty on it?"", just out of the blue. Being honest about things is better to maintain than lies, you will get caught one day, and all your words will be doubted from then on.

Last, whatever I did for money, getting it, or getting nothing at all, I NEVER EVER BEGGED for others to pay my way. Neither should you.

And seriously, if you really wanted to get money, you wouldn't be spending time on websites trying to get 50c a day, rather going out into your neighborhood and mowing lawns, washing cars, maybe even babysitting to get the money. What this comes down to is hard work, and are you willing to do it?

Exchange some hardwork (washing cars, mow lawns, etc) for some extra money would be the best way to solve your problem. No pain no gain.

I won't say you're begging for money, but earning money through websites don't really get you anywhere. Unless of course you own a site with a million hits per day, then people would pay to advert on your site.

But that aside, real money comes through hardwork, be it $2 for washing a car or something. If you can get 5 or 6 neighbours and wash their cars once a week, you'll get $10-12 per week extra. And it would just probably take you 30-60mins per wash. Far better than 50cents per day on those sites.

I know how it feels if your dad finds out the player is bricked. You might get a scolding or beating for a day or two, but he isin't gonna do that forever. Being honest is what makes you a better man in the future.

If i was in your shoes, i'll probably try to raise the money to get a replacement, if i can't i'll just have to tell my dad about it. At least i'll know i tried to do something about it. And your dad would know it in his heart that his son is honest and not afraid to own up to something you have done.

Meh, if it was that easy to get some kind of 'job' here in sweden :/

they are DUMB at the newspaper deliveries company, they pay like 10 usd for one days work, i tried once, after that, my back hurt so much, I couldn't walk. o.O will never do that again!

Baby sitting is okay, but not much mothers wants guys to babysit for their kids...my sister was a baby sitter some years ago when she was at my age, she got like up to 80 usd for 6h of baby sitting, that totaly pwnz. o.o ;D

So yes you could of had a free player but now I don't care if you get 1 or not.

ok i trust you pocket-nano but i think the the option of video taping the smashing of my player and getting a free one is an option any more. 2 reasons, ur kinda pissed at me, and i need to keep that player just in case my dad asks where is it or something like that. i could always use excuse "i need to charge it."

i can't babysit i have a reason. i would if i could but my mother would probably restrict me from doing that because she's mentally ill (literally) and my mom has no friends and chases all of my dad's friends out of the house. she doesn't like anybody and she doesn't work. and i'm not afraid to do hard work. responding to retarded questions for 50 cents a day to me is really hard work. i hate it, i would rather be doing something else.
right now in north dakota (the second coldest state) we are not having barely any snow this year. last year it was below 30 most of the time, today it's 30 above.
i wouldn't be mowing the lawn in the winter because it's mostly covered in snow, and there's not enough snow to be shoveling.
i was having trouble with my wireless internet connection and fixed it. now there's a reason that my dad would start giving me 5 dollar allowance a week. i think that's enough. i used to get 20 bucks a week, but that ended this july when my dad got laid off like 40 times cuz of some gay union arguement thing where he works. i kno, i should have saved that money but i didn't kno that a situation like this would come.

What this situation comes down to is basically lying and greed.

You quoted your father that he said "we really don't have the money right now", so why don't you just wait longer and wait until your family can afford to buy an MP4 or iPod?

Also, if you were truly serious about not upsetting your father, then you would admit that you broke your MP4 experimenting with it, and that you are sorry.

What if he found out that you sold all the cases that he bought for you just to buy a new MP4, and worse, that you lied to him?

Edit : Also, an iPod Video costs $249.99 at the cheapest, and an MP4 can cost $40 at the cheapest (decent quality), so I really don't see why he would promise you an iPod Video if your family is short of money

i dont kno either. i never lied, i'm not greedy. my father said he would, i dont kno why though.
and when my dad said that, i think of it as just an excuse. he probably can afford it getting 23 bucks an hour but uses it on other things.
the point that i'm trying to get at is that i can't afford one, and i'm trying to get one myself. without the help of my father. i would wait, but we already could. it's just that I can't, he can. see what i mean. I dont have the money, HE does. i'm trying to get money so that i can get one.
