difference between 'Outbox' and 'Sendbox' in PM section?

What's the difference between 'Outbox' and 'Sendbox' in the PM section? Thanks.

I believe that if it is in the outbox, the receiver has not picked it up yet. If it's in the sentbox then the receive has got it.

jctoad is correct, the outbox is for your outgoing messages. Once the recipient logs in your message will be sent and will then move to the sentbox.
