Did it come in a MP4 Player Box or a plain box?

Can you please take some photos of it as I might buy some.

Cheers

Re: Tinydealdirect???

Sure, I'll take some photos when I have my digital camera again (someone's using it atm but I will be getting it back tonight). I don't know how much luck you'll have ordering it, well from Tinydeal anyway, as I said it appears to be no longer listed on its catalogue.

I read through the manual and it makes little sense at all, definitely not written specifically for my player! One wonders why they bother to supply a manual at all if it is so irrelevant, why not scrap it and knock 5 cents off the price? And the CD looks equally unhelpful...

But the player itself looks great, it's just about had it's 4 hours charging so I'll be investigating it properly soon :-) I wonder how I will get on with video but will comb the forums here if I get stuck.

UPDATE: I searched for Sunplus on this forum and found http://www.mympxplayer.org/24-player...mv-vt7433.html.

I just don't know how to convert the video! The demo video is .3gp, looking at the file properties in Windows Explorer - can someone help me? My MSN id is guthund@hotmail.com, maybe someone would like to talk me through it?

The graphics are really cool on my player, there is a great 3D graphic of a USB plug when you plug it in to the PC, lol!

nzer_4_lyf 17th Nov 2007 10:46 pm

All manuals that come with OEM MP3 & MP4 Players are generic and to be precise are pretty crap.

On the CD there should be video conversion software.

hundnz 17th Nov 2007 11:13 pm

There is conversion software, but it is all for AMV files. So should I download AVI Converter 4.0?

One limitation of the player seems to be that it can only play files from the root AUDIO directory - when I create new folders with music (only 1 level deep) they are not recognised. A bit of a pain but I had suspected this might be the case.

The other thing is that the player seems to become inaccessible from Windows Explorer some times after being plugged in, i.e. when one clicks on the H drive it says it's inaccessible. But again I had had experiences like this a couple of years back with a Chinese MP3 player (non-video model).

DimaMp4 19th Nov 2007 4:07 pm

Ummm...soo should I buy a mp4 player from tinydeal? idk what to do :P

Amigajoe 19th Nov 2007 11:32 pm

I placed a 'test' order with them the day you started this thread. I haven't received anything yet. I'd recommend hanging on til I do. In fact, it's still listed as 'Pending' in my order history on their site. Also, I'll be placing another wholesale order within a week or so. Check the price/model list I uploaded. If there's something there that fits your needs, I'll take care of you.

Re: Tinydealdirect???

Well, my stuff arrived today! 1 day after I made my comment. Took a full 2 week but it got here. One thing is that it's in plain brown boxes, not retail packaging, but i can deal with that. Must be part of how they keep costs down. ;-) So I can now say that TinyDeal is legit. I'll certainly be buying some more stuff from them. Just not stuff I need anytime soon. ;-)

admin 21st Nov 2007 1:57 am

Amigajoe

Thanks for the update. What did you end up getting and what's your comments on the quality of the product? Everything working ok and such?

Re: Tinydealdirect???

I got 3 of the little 'i-nickel'-type players. Red, black, and silver. I've dealt with these before and everything looks good fuction/appearance-wise.
http://pic1.ebuyhk.com/mp3/r11.jpg

-Only thing I notice is that the price has gone up a couple bucks since I got them. 23.99-25.99. SO I guess i got a deal! ;-0

princessanne1026 21st Nov 2007 9:53 am

glad to hear that you got what you ordered in a reasonable amount of time. yeah, I noticed the raised prices also! Oh well, they're still dirt cheap compared to other sites.

Re: Tinydealdirect???

I received my order from Tinydeal.com today... it's one of those ubiquitous Glacier-type players, I ordered it for my brother's birthday gift. It arrived in 13 days from the date ordered.

The packaging is a simple brown box. Nothing fancy, but the player and the accessories are in good condition.

I didn't test the player itself beyond turning it on (it's a gift, after all) but it arrived partially charged, so I can tell that it at least boots up and seems to be working. I will leave it to my brother to let me know his impressions of the player and how well it works.

I'm satisfied in my dealings with Tinydeal.com and will certainly consider them for future gift purchases -- me, I have all the players I need!

nzer_4_lyf 23rd Nov 2007 4:51 pm

It's great to know that they are legit.

The only thing is there 8GB Player are probably hacked...

joshk2011 26th Nov 2007 4:13 pm

Re: Tinydealdirect???

Has anyone bought 4 gb players from them? And does anyone know what their shipping to the US is like?
Thanks josh

princessanne1026 26th Nov 2007 5:23 pm

Josh - yeah, I've bought a 4gb player from them, which I broke by accident and got a replacement for. Both were completely genuine. I checked and rechecked for both players and sure enough, they weren't hacked. I would say take the plunge if you want to buy from them, because their 4gb prices are pretty darn good. Also, shipping to the US normally takes 1 and 1/2 to 2 weeks, sometimes a little longer.

jo gobel 26th Nov 2007 5:30 pm

apparently they have free shipping? but they ship from china.

i would do a google search and check out their ebay feedback...

kinda of a spotty record IMO, http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...k&myworld=true

they seem "OK" i guess. i wouldnt go off ordering hundreds of dollars worth of players though.

but they seem legit with some issues in their past.

DimaMp4 27th Nov 2007 1:37 am

Orderd a 1GB "glacier-type" player. :) Hopefully it will be a real 1gb player. And hopefully it wont get the fameous "hourglass of death". If the mp4 will be fine, I'll be ordering more.

I love cheap chinese mp4 players xD

Edit: woah, it has allredy been shipped (orderd it last night) it seems to be with Hongkong post and not from China, as some said that they were shipping their items from. I also got a tracking number.

jo gobel 27th Nov 2007 4:56 am

hongkong is in china

Buzzygirl 27th Nov 2007 5:12 am

They are very quick to ship, that is for sure.

kdawg 1st Dec 2007 6:42 pm

What's the difference between these players?

http://www.tinydeal.com/catalog/prod...products_id=63

nzer_4_lyf 1st Dec 2007 6:49 pm

Well the first link is an iPod Nano Gen 3 Clone & it has a 1.8" Screen. The second link takes removable nokia bl4-c batteries and has a 2" Screen + Built In Speaker. I would buy the second 'Glacier' type player.

nzer_4_lyf 1st Dec 2007 6:50 pm

If you are looking for a very nice player I would buy this: http://www.tinydeal.com/catalog/prod...roducts_id=248

kdawg 1st Dec 2007 6:53 pm

I have a budget of $60

lattesurf 1st Dec 2007 7:46 pm

kdawg , basically both players are the same. They are both running off an Actions chipset. The only difference is the casing that's all.

The main difference would be that the 2nd black player uses a removable battery (nokia type), which is better. As you can keep a spare battery in case the 1st one runs low.

kdawg 1st Dec 2007 7:49 pm

Yeah, I will probably get the second black one. it's $5 more but what the heck. It has a bit bigger screen too. Would I be able to upgrade the firmware? And can I look at music while I listen to music?

lattesurf 1st Dec 2007 8:09 pm

kdawg , unfortunately firmware upgrading is not a possible option in Actions and Rockchip chipsets. i'm not saying it can't be done, but it is more likely to brick the player instead of improving it. Besides you gain nothing by upgrading firmware, maybe perhaps an extra 1 or 2 games that's all.

What do you mean by looking at the music whilst listening to it? Do you mean multi-tasking?

nzer_4_lyf 2nd Dec 2007 12:23 pm

No, you can not listen to music and look at music at the same time.

kdawg 3rd Dec 2007 9:23 am

I might also get this one

http://www.tinydeal.com/catalog/prod...roducts_id=223

It would say if it could multitask right? What's the name of this? What's the difference between this and the Glacier? This can do widescreen right? Not what the Ipod vid does and squishes it?

nzer_4_lyf 3rd Dec 2007 7:35 pm

No, they can not multi task, I have not seen any Chinese MP4 Player that can.

Difference between that and a Glacier: nothing, Uxcell just made that name for their player.

It can view movies in AMV at full screen as long as you use the correct resolution whilst converting to AMV.

knob 4th Dec 2007 4:15 am

Rockchip MP4 players can multitask, they can browse songs whilst playing the current song,

Rockchips can also play a game at the same time as music.

Only problem is there seem to be only 1 or 2 Rockchips on the Tinydeal site and they don't look like ipods

DimaMp4 4th Dec 2007 5:55 am

Soo I got this player home today: http://www.tinydeal.com/catalog/prod...products_id=28

Shipping took like a week only! (5 days excluding the weekend!)

It came in a very little box. Earphones, USB cable, cd driver, charger were included.

The player is really cool, the screen is very good, also, mine doesn't seem to have the same firmware as the "uxcell glacier". Mine has SRS wow. Video plays actually pretty well. The speaker is fine. Build quality feels solid. I like the player so far, it's the best actionchip player I'v had.

I will do a memory check test and update my post with more info.

The thing is, that they have raised the price to $31 usd. So I am going to write a mail to them and ask why they have raised the price and that it's kinda expensive now (feel free to do the same, tell them something like that the price is too much now, then we might get a little price drop.)

:)

Edit: did a memory test check, formated with windows and mp3 disk tool, seems to be a legit 1GB. Sweet. :D

kdawg 4th Dec 2007 10:30 am

The only thing now is the AOK from my parents to get one...

joshk2011 4th Dec 2007 10:42 am

How can you tell if a player has a Rockchip?

knob 4th Dec 2007 11:00 am

This player is a Rockchip, it plays .avi movies, has a MiniSd slot, and doesn't try to look like an Ipod.

http://www.tinydeal.com/catalog/prod...roducts_id=252

These are too:-
http://www.tinydeal.com/catalog/prod...roducts_id=248

http://www.tinydeal.com/catalog/prod...roducts_id=251

Rockchips also tend to have biggers screens for movie playing.

kdawg 4th Dec 2007 1:19 pm

This one is a rockchip I'm guessing?

http://www.tinydeal.com/catalog/prod...roducts_id=223

knob 4th Dec 2007 1:31 pm

no sorry to say it isn't.

The clue is where it says "Movie Player Support AMV format".

It would need to say .avi format.

kdawg 6th Dec 2007 7:05 am

Ahh... Ok.

http://www.tinydeal.com/catalog/prod...roducts_id=251

Hey guys, seems like Tiny Deal is a good place. Wish I had seen it before I bought a couple hacked players off Ebay. Anyway, I am interested in the player above but was wondering if anyone here knows if the player is touch screen based or not? I mean the screen looks big enough and there does not seem to be any buttons to navigate through the screens. I emailed the company but have yet to hear from them. Thank you.

-Tha Hindu

nzer_4_lyf 4th Jan 2008 12:05 am

Finally, today I have made my first order with them.

I ordered 4 players, 3 which are 2GB and 1 which is 4GB. When they arrive, I will do the format test on all of them and update this thread.

I will probably re-sell the players to friends and family etc after I have tested them.

As others have ordered from them, I am 95% confident I will be getting genuine non hacked players.

nzer_4_lyf 5th Jan 2008 1:54 am

Ok, well as of now they are arranging the shipping and they said I will get a tracking number on Monday at the latest.

They seem to be very helpful via e-mail and they have pretty good english skills.

They told me they ship via Hong Kong Post Registered Air Mail so maybe the previous China Post Registered Air Mail was to unreliable and slow.

Anyway, I look forward to receiving my order by the end of next week as shipping from HK normally takes around 2-3 days from once it leaves HK to when it gets delivered to me in NZ.
