Tinydealdirect???

www.tinydeal.com / www.tinydealdirect.com

Anyway know if they sell hacked players? The prices are very good, to good to be true.

Their ebay feedback wasn't so good (some ppl had battery and other problems on their mp4) but not hacked memmory problems... (I haven't read the whole feedback tho)

Is it safe to buy MP4 players from there?

Thanks!

Re: Tinydealdirect???

Hmmm. Those prices are really low. Comparable to wholesale. I'd be extremely suspicious. Of course the only way to be sure is to buy one. Pick one of the cheaper (>$30) models so if you get burned it won't hurt too much...

p.s. They might make up on the price with outrageous shipping charges, you'll have to go through the ordering process to see that

p.p.s. -OK, Shipping is FREE! Yikes! I don't know what to say. Guess I'll give 'em a try and see for myself!

DimaMp4 5th Nov 2007 2:57 pm

Yes, prices seem to be too low. But I don't think that it's impossible to sell them for that price. Some members here (I'v seen 2 people) that said that they got genuine 4Gb players from Tinydeal direct. I would like to order one 1Gb or 2Gb, cant decide lol. They awnser to mails and so on, so they seem to be legit. Well hopefully they are.

princessanne1026 5th Nov 2007 5:09 pm

Don't be suspicious (lol, you KNOW I had to post on a board about tinydealdirect. I'm a notorious supporter of them). I bought from them when they used to have a store on eBay with no problems, so I don't see why you should have any problems if you buy directly from their site. The way I see it, they can afford to charge less because they don't have to pay all the eBay listing and final value fees and are totally independent. Plus, they probably get the players for like $5 or something. They're making a profit regardless. So go ahead and buy an mp4 player from them. Amazing prices, and I still have all of the ones I bought from them (4 in total)

princessanne1026 5th Nov 2007 5:13 pm

Now that I'm looking through their site, their prices ARE ridiculously low! A 4gb player for $42? Back in the day (last year), I could barely get a 1gb player for that. Looks a tad suspicious. I trust the company, but I'd contact them to verify the actual capacity and ask what enables them to sell for such a low price. Wow, their prices have really dropped!

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. They dont list more MP4s on their eBay acount. Maybe they sold genuine players first and now hacked ones? I really want to buy one, don't want to get a hacked one though xD (the prices make me droll lol)

As they awnser to mails, maybe I should mail them the link to this thread so they can post something that can verify that they only sell genuine players? or something like that. My idea is pretty stupid I guess. lol

Re: Tinydealdirect???

Well, I found this site here: http://www.resellerratings.com/store/TinyDeal_Direct.

It only has one review though so that's not much to go by.

If you are going to buy from them here is what I think you should do to try to cover yourself:

* Ask them straight up, why are their prices so cheap?

* Ask them if it's a true, geniune 4GB player.

* Ask them what their refund or replacement policy is. Will you have to pay for shipping to send it back if it's faulty or has hacked memory?

* Finally, mention to them about this site. Tell them that this site has about 18,000 dedicated members and that when you buy from them, you will be putting a review about Tiny Deal Direct on this site about the player.

Hopefully that will give you something to go back on. How will you be paying? Previously by credit because at least then you can back track it and claim a refund should you have any problems or not get the player.

Hope that helps.

Amigajoe 6th Nov 2007 12:36 am

Funny, in looking around for info on Tinydeal, I stumbled across their website tracker. http://extremetracking.com/open?login=tinydeal
Shows a definite spike in traffic on Monday! ;-) With the highest % of visitors being from Brazil?

DimaMp4 6th Nov 2007 8:43 am

Mailed them, now lets wait :)

princessanne1026 6th Nov 2007 10:12 am

lol admin, that 1 review on resellerratings was me! I wasn't kidding when I said I was a diehard supporter of their company. DimaMp4, good luck with your purchase (if you decide to, that is). Keep us updated!

nzer_4_lyf 7th Nov 2007 12:11 am

I e-mailed them this:

Hi again,

I was just wondering: why do the MP3 & MP4 Players have such cheap prices?

What is your refund or replacement policy like? If something is faulty will I have to pay the shipping costs to send it to you & will you pay to send it back to me?

Do you send the appropriate charger to the Country where the Players are being sent to; I am in New Zealand and we use the same plugs as Australia.

Kind Regards,

They replied with this:
hi
dear sir,
because we do not need to pay the ebay listing and transaction fee.
and we directly produce the players by ourselves.
if something faulty, you pay to send back the item to us, we pay to send the replacement to you.
we will send you a charger according to your address.
thanks

I just figured out they are Tronfy Tech, they used to operate the Ebay Account red-vision which was selling hacked players. I don't know if they are very trustworthy....

admin 7th Nov 2007 2:37 am

Re: Tinydealdirect???

Thanks nzer_4_lyf.

The only bummer bit is the "you pay to send back the item to us" part, which could cost about $30-$50 on registered mail to China.

How did you find out about them being "Tronfy Tech" and "red vision"?

Re: Tinydealdirect???

Here's a relevant thread from a few months ago:
http://www.mympxplayer.org/just-got-...ct-vt6439.html
-Maybe some of the people who commented then could throw in their 2 cents now that some time has passed?

nzer_4_lyf 7th Nov 2007 10:04 am

Hi,

I bought an MP4 Player off ebay from the ebay user red-vision & the e-mails I received were from Tronfy Tech (I never went through with the sale since I found out they were selling hacked players). The weird thing is the e-mails I got yesterday say they are from Tonfy Tech (probably just a spelling error). Some pictures on there site are the exact same ones that were on red-vision's ebay auctions- I think ebay banned that account.

They might have changed there ways and are now selling legit quality players.

I might buy from them to see how good they are.

I never thought shipping to China from NZ was so expensive!

princessanne1026 7th Nov 2007 6:36 pm

$30-$50 registered mail??!! I only paid about $3! Granted, I took a huge risk sending it in the smallest padded envelope possible without insurance - NOT RECOMMENDED, but when I asked my post office how much it would cost for a normal sized envelope with insurance, it was still a couple bucks less than $10. I would never pay more than that to have it shipped back. I don't know about other countries' rates, but I'm just sharing personal experience.

Also, administrators such as taddad had said that their were similarities in the Company name betweeen tinydealdirect and another eBay seller selling hacked players in the past (can't recall the name right now but I believe they have been put out of business.) There were never any other proven similarities than the company name. To put it bluntly: other members besides me have confirmed receiving nonhacked players from tinydealdirect and others who bought from the other seller received hacked players

Not trying to force anything on anyone; it's still your decision. I just wanted to clear some things up. Good luck, whatever you guys decide!

nzer_4_lyf 7th Nov 2007 7:30 pm

I might be wrong.

I will however make a purchase from them so I can make a real comment based on something.

nzer_4_lyf 7th Nov 2007 7:45 pm

This is weird; I opened up the message source from the e-mail I received from them and it has this listed in a part of it: sent@ebuyhk.com. If you google search ebuyhk it comes up with some pages about hacked players etc.

I just checked my e-mails in Outlook and I found red-vision's e-mail address it was: redvision@ebuyhk.com

Re: Tinydealdirect???

I ordered this player from Tinydeal a week ago.

http://www.tinydeal.com/catalog/prod...products_id=32

It hasn't arrived yet, but I'm not panicking as the site says it was only shipped on Wednesday. Interestingly enough, the price has now gone up to $55.99. I paid $44.99. But earlier in the year, it was $64.99. I can understand if prices drop, but it seems odd that it has now gone up in price!

I've e-mailed Tinydeal a number of times during year and answers have always been prompt and accurate, so I hope it's an okay seller. I'll post what I think once I get the player.

nzer_4_lyf 8th Nov 2007 7:31 pm

Prices for MP3 & MP4 Players always go up and down in price due to the flash memory price changing a lot.

Did they send you the tracking number?

Normally for me when things get sent from HK to NZ via registered air-mail it only takes 3 days max and around 3-5 days max via standard air-mail.

DimaMp4 9th Nov 2007 3:13 am

Yes, the prices went up a bit. I think it's beacause of the flash price chaning whole the time as mentioned before.

It's still cheaper than most sites. Well lets wait and see, if people get real memory players. :)

Re: Tinydealdirect???

I ordered a 1 GB player from Tinydealdirect today for my brother's upcoming birthday... I hope it's a decent player. Certainly cannot beat their prices, and free shipping too! I love to save money.

hundnz 9th Nov 2007 10:48 pm

Yeah, I got a tracking number, but I'm not sure where I can enter it. Does anyone have any idea? It's RR518342185CN. I went to the Hong Kong post website but when I entered it in, it said I needed an enquiry number or something.

I'm hoping it arrives very early next week, if not I will start to worry. If it was posted on Wednesday it should be here soon. This is what TinyDeal said:

"We have dispatched the following item to you .
The tracking number is:RR518342185CN.

Generally the item will reach you in 7-15 bussiness days (excluding weekend and public holidays) after disptached.

If you can not receive it after 15 bussiness days(20 calendar days), please get back to us."

It looks like such a great player that I can't wait for it to arrive. Even if it's a hacked player, I'll be annoyed but probably won't return as long as the SD card slot works and the player functions OK. Because this player has all the functions I could ever want (notably a camera).

hundnz 9th Nov 2007 11:02 pm

UPDATE: 3 minutes ago I got a message from Tinydeal:

"hello , you can check it from http://intmail.183.com.cn/

but it is in chinese ,t hanks"

The communication from Tinydeal and the fact I have a tracking number gives me confidence that the item is indeed in transit and they're not ripping me off. But if anyone knows Chinese and can tell me what's happening to item RR518342185CN, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks

Hundnz

nzer_4_lyf 9th Nov 2007 11:21 pm

I used google language tools and it uses a BETA Translation system, any way this is what it says:

Mail number Year of the current state of e-mail sent to the current location of the current state of e-mail date
RR518342185CN 2007 export total package mutual Shahe closure closure of the New Zealand business on November 8, 2007

So basically it has been sent, and you should get it delivered by the end of next week via CourierPost.

They seem to be using a weird shipping system which is shipped from China not HK.

In a couple of days I recommend you use track and trace on the NZ Post website and it will tell you if it has arrived in NZ etc.

nzer_4_lyf 9th Nov 2007 11:44 pm

To anyone that has purchased from them:

Are the players good quality?

Has any thing every gone wrong?

How long did shipping take?

Do the players come in packaging or a gift box?

hundnz 10th Nov 2007 12:21 am

Re: Tinydealdirect???

Hey, thanks for checking that out :-) I should of thought of using Google myself, but I don't have a Chinese language pack installed so everything is displayed as question marks at the moment.

I wonder where Tinydeal is actually based - I thought Hong Kong but actually I suspect China, otherwise why would you ship it via mainland China? Although shipping that way might possibly be cheaper I suppose. I hope Tinydeal turns out to be OK, the service from them thus far is really great, and getting it tracked and delivered by courier all for no extra charge sounds unbelievably good.

I'll keep everyone posted on how things turn out.

nzer_4_lyf 10th Nov 2007 3:11 pm

Hi,

I tracked it again for you today and translated and it says this:

RR518342185CN 2007 exports total Bao Zhifeng to send under seal New Zealand Guangzhou international on November 10, 2007

princessanne1026 10th Nov 2007 5:24 pm

nzer_4_lyf: to answer your questions:

1. The players are typical quality mp4 players. Not extraordinarily sturdy, but not cheap trash either. You don't have to baby them, but I don't think they can withstand a great deal of abuse. Normal use shouldn't hurt.

2. Something did go wrong with one of the players I bought, but it was entirely my fault. The screen of a 4gb mp4 I bought from them was slightly crooked and it was annoying me, so I stupidly decided to open it to try and straighten it out. Turns out I had a hell of a time getting it back together in one piece, and by the time I did, the screen was even more crooked and the headphone jack was broken. I immediately e-mailed tinydealdirect and begged them to let me return it even though I had clearly voided any warranty by opening it. To my surprise, they did. I returned it for about $3 in the smallest padded envelope possible without insurance (NOT RECOMMENDED, because anything could have happened, but hey, I'm cheap) and e-mailed them every few days until they confirmed they had received it. They sent another one back and it arrived a week and a half later with no problems at all. That was the only problem I experienced.

3. Shipping normally takes a week and 1/2 to reach me in the US. Longest time was about 2 weeks but that's still acceptable.

4. The players come in a small cardboard box (or at least all of mine did).

Hope this helped.

nzer_4_lyf 11th Nov 2007 7:32 pm

Thanks for that.

That must be another reason why the prices are quite cheap as they don't come in nice packaging.

hundnz 13th Nov 2007 12:17 pm

Thanks nzer_4_lyf for tracking my player again! I haven't got it yet and am (unreasonably) starting to get a little anxious!

But I'm sure it will turn up soon - it just seems like shipping can be a little longer than other sellers, judging from princessanne1026's comments.

Interestingly, the only problems I have ever had with shipping and online purchases have been when I've ordered stuff from the US, had a few things go "missing" on the way (read stolen). But from Asia and Europe never any problems. Perhaps the Confucian ethics (for the former, anyway!)?

Interesting e-mail communication I had with tinydealdirect -

I asked them if they had considered adding rockchip players to their inventory because it would CERTAINLY boost sales. This was the extent of our communication:

Me:
Hi, I would like more info about product: http://www.tinydeal.com/catalog/prod...dbecdf4fccdc04

It says transflash card slot. Is it rockchip? Does it support AVI movie file, or just AMV? Does it have a 2.5mm or 2.5mm headphone jack? Thanks

Them:

hi
dear sir,
thanks for contacting us.
the player supports AMV video format.
what do you mean "rockchip"?
this player supports extension memory by TF card.
the earphone jack is 3.5mm

Me:
rockchip players have external memory slots and support AVI video files and multitasking (listening music and viewing pictures at same time). Here is an example of a rockchip player: http://img.memorygreat.com/img/digital/RM600-01.jpg

Will you be adding any rockchip players to your inventory in the future? They are much better than the cheap AMV kind you sell now.

Them:
hi
dear sir, many thanks for your suggestion.
we will search the rockchip players in the market.
thanks

------------------------------------------------------

I was very surprised that these retailers didn't know what a rockchip player was! But I'm also happy that they've taken my request into consideration. I look forward to seeing them add rockchip players for unbeatable prices.

knob 13th Nov 2007 1:17 pm

princess,

I think they do have at least 1 Rockchip player, I think this is it:-

http://www.tinydeal.com/catalog/prod...dbecdf4fccdc04

it says supports .avi (that's if the description is accurate) the descriptions do look a bit "ebay like" though.

princessanne1026 13th Nov 2007 3:57 pm

oh, that's a player using an ankya chip (at least I think that's how it's spelled). It's slightly different than a rockchip but has similar features. But to me, the player looks HIDEOUS. I meant rockchip as in a more "Vista" or "Temptation" type.

nzer_4_lyf 13th Nov 2007 7:44 pm

re: Hundz

I have a package coming from China (not from tinydealdirect though) sent via EMS which is supposed to be fast shipping and I still have not received it.

There might possible be some problems with shipping in China at the moment I am not sure- I tracked it and it left China on the 10th.

hundnz 14th Nov 2007 6:00 pm

Re: Tinydealdirect???

I just tracked my player on the NZ Post website:

Item delivery status for RR518342185CN

* 8.16 AM
* 15/11/07
* Arrived in New Zealand

Your item has arrived in New Zealand.

So that's good news!!! I expect it will arrive tomorrow morning (early I hope so I can get it before going off to work, otherwise I may not get it until after the weekend as will have to pick-up from Postshop).

Can't wait to get my hands on it!

nzer_4_lyf 14th Nov 2007 8:21 pm

Hi mate,

I don't think you will get it tomorrow as it will normally say if it has been through the Customs Clearance.

My package sent via EMS has still not arrived in NZ yet- arggh.

hundnz 15th Nov 2007 7:02 pm

You're right - I haven't got it today (Friday). Haven't ordered anything from China before, but I have to say this is the slowest shipping I've ever had for something that has tracking. Much be quite a budget option. But free shipping so I can't really complain and at least it's made it to NZ, even if it's still sitting at Mangere...

Hopefully will get here early next week then, will update the forum then.

Hundnz

nzer_4_lyf 15th Nov 2007 7:34 pm

Well pretty much every shipping from Mainland China is quite slow (Courier Options are very quick though). The shipping is free as it probably only cost them around $1.50 NZD .

Things sent from Hong Kong come quickly though.

When I get order worth over $250 NZD I always choose to use DHL so that my package is delivered by CourierPost in New Zealand.

Remember so many packages are coming overseas due to XMAS so Customs will be very busy.

hundnz 17th Nov 2007 6:33 pm

Well the player has arrived! On Saturday morning no less, although I didn't realise it was there until today (when I checked the NZ Post tracking site, doh!). That makes a ordering/shipping time of two weeks exactly, which is reasonable. So far I'm very impressed, although all I've done is plugged the player in the mains and looked at the demo songs/video and tried out the radio and camera , all working satisfactorily. Even the headphones are not complete rubbish.

But the manual is confusing (no surprise) - it talks of having to convert files to AMV, when I thought I was buying a player that converted to AVI.

I'm pleased I ordered when I did - the player has disappeared from the Tinydeal website so it looks like mine was one of the last to go out. Luckily Google cache can help out - I'd be grateful if an expert could have a look at http://tinyurl.com/2l3q3e and give me an opinion on what sort of conversion really is needed. Until today I thought the player I was getting was the one reviewed at http://nkhan.jwmediabox.com/blog/rev...d-clone-china/, but while the hardware looks identical, the interface/display screenshots there look different to what my player has.

Anyway will post more when the charging time (4hours) is up and I can have more of a play, as usual when acquiring a new gadget I am very pleased , but it has been my experience that one or two annoying flaws become apparent on closer inspection!

Hundnz

lattesurf 17th Nov 2007 7:40 pm

hundnz , it should be a Sunplus chipset as the description says .avi .3gp .mp4. But to be sure, check the format of the demo video that came with it.

Usually these players are mass produced with generic instructions and cds that are not related to the actual product.
