A strange 2.5 jack or how to remove a broken tip [resolved]

Hello,
I've spent hours searching on the net the right 3.5 adapter for my "chipod" that I bought on ebay.
My original earplugs are dead !
I explain : my mp4 has a strange 2.5mm jack format, its extremity is cut ! There are the 2 black lines but just at the end of the last there isn't the usual "male" plugin. It's a female one; like : ||O instead of ||>
Where could I buy one ????
I hope that's my english is understandable !!!

is the plug on the player a female connector? if so, just buy a standard 2.5mm headphones.

or just buy a 2.5mm male to 3.5mm female, and then buy a set of good 3.5mm male headphones

On the right this is the 2.5 to 3.5 mm that I have already bought .... and it isn't compatible !
As you can see on the left this is the strange 2.5 jack.

ekymoz , does the 2.5 to 3.5mm adaptor fit into the player?

If not, it seems that your player might be using a different type of 3P audio socket. i can't seem to locate such an audio jack in farnell's catalogue.

What i can suggest is to get the audio socket in your player changed to a normal 2.5 or 3.5mm socket.

is it possible the the tip of the old headphones broke off in the headphone jack?

I don't remember how this jack looked like before...
Yes the 2.5-->3.5 fit in the player, but I can't plug it till the end.
I looked into the audio socket with care (and a strong light) and this is highly possible that the tip is into it.
So 2 solutions :
- get this thing out of my player
- replace the audio socket.
I'm gonna try the first one, if anyone has a good way to do it...

it might be possible to open the player and then from the backside of the connector push out the broken tip (if in fact the tip did break inside the connector) with a very fine tip item like a dental pick or something like that.

otherwise, you might be able to remove it by taking a thin piece of material, like a tooth pick, applying a very small dab of super glue on the tip, and placing it inside the connector and wait for it to dry, then remove the tooth pick and hopefully it stuck to the broken piece and comes out. and hopefully you dont put to much super glue on it and the spreads inside of the connector and causing the tooth pick to become stuck as well.

Great !!!!
I've succeded !
I wasn't hot for the glue method so I spent an hour with a curved safety-pin, and I even opened the player but it was impossible to reach the tip.
Eventually I put some glue on the jack of my earphone. I inserted it inside, trying to connect it with the broken part, and after a slow extraction it was done. First Try !!!

Ps : my adaptor works fine !!!
