Please help telling if this is a hacked firmware
 

Hey i'v been meaning to get a new mp4 player for agers since my last one has died.

Anyhow i was looking on ebay and came across this fairly decent looking one:

Now what i am sus on is it is 2gb and also they say not to format it because it will cause it to stop working, now from my knowledge the only reason people have trouble after they format the hacked ones is because it tries to format as the hacked size but cant there for stopping the unit from working, has anyone any suggestions?
