Hello

For a mistake i have put my mp3 (Thomson EM2801A, with chip Sigmatel stmp 3600) in the washing machine. I've tried to dry it, but it does not turn on. When i link the chargebattery on it, it show "Thomson". it turn off and in fast mode it turn on, with the screen thomson. When i connett usb cable, my windows xp says "USB DEVICE NOT RECONOGNIZED". Can i recovery my MP3? it contains 200 mp3s....i haven't a backup of the music on my pc.....

may be the power button has been damaged that's why you cannot turn it on open up your player take apart every thing you can dry it with blower and then re solder or change the power button if you can not find a button place the metal piece betwwen the two ends of the power button once its on connect it to usb and then hopefully your windows will recognize it

Let it dry for a few days.

If you had washing powder in the washing then there might be a good chance that your player has been wrecked because of it. I'm going on my previous experience with computers and coffee/sugar. Both don't go together. Taken also that it's been through a good spin and rinsed through a few times as well, that won't help either.

I too would take lolita's suggestion and let it dry for a few days and see what happens. You may get lucky.

Let us know how you get on......
