Anyka Spy Cams, etc.

Hi all..newb to the site, and it's great!

I'm looking for the resident Anyka expert here! I have a few 'spy-cams' that are based on the Anyka AK3631 chip, and one died so I'm trying to resurrect it if it's possible. But.. I need help big-time understanding the Anyka Burn Tool I've found here. If someone can point me to a manual or the expert member here I'd be grateful.

From what I've figured out over the last week (!) these things are very similar to the players that this site is all about, but obviously with no touch screens, only 1 or 2 buttons, and only video & still pic capability, I know I'm on my own with the right firmware. But the files are named the same as many of the Anyka PMP files I see here, so I know the basic operational principles are the same. I just haven't got a clue about how to use the Burn Tool, and in the case of my dead cam I need to because it won't connect as a usb drive, but burn tool can 'talk' to it I think.

Thanks to anyone for any help.

Details of what I'm looking for

Makes sense to get right to the point and ask my first specific questions, I guess.

I'm trying to get a feel for the hardware 'lay of the land'.. I suppose that the cpu/controller is the Anyka chip, and it uses the NAND flash memory chip for all various OS code/functions, and then uses the SDRam chip for all of the user files? In the Spring.bin code I see references to ASIC debugger, so I'm also assuming the code is written in ASIC (in my case anyway)? As you can tell, I know just enough about electronics & programming to burn up chips and waste time. ;)

Then, I'm stuck on drive (ram) format specifics.. I see that the PMPs with 3 'system' drives seem to have 6 or so drive format specs in Burn Tool. I don't get that! And just to make things worse for me, my device has (as far as I can tell) 2 drives in 2 different usb 'modes'- a system drive with the .bin files, and a user drive ('normal' usb plug-in mode) with the recorded videos & pics in a total of 2 folders each with a subfolder. When I 'boot' into either mode, only one 'drive' shows at a time.

As I mentioned before, if the thing would boot into either of the 'drive' modes then life would be simpler. But, it only connects to usb in the mode that Burn Tool recognizes (ADFU mode or it's Anyka equiv.?).

Thanks in advance, again!
