Thanks a Bunch Guys!

orry I do not have any problems with it my sleep mode turns off the lcd. Are you turning your unit off at the switch on top or by holding down the play button.

If the switch then this is like a hard reset and your settings and time will be reset. Swith off by holding down the play button and your settings should remain.

I too have the vista theme from Tadad 1 ... I think its' great ...

a funny thing though ... under the LCD tab, you normally have brighness, darkle and dark ...

after upgrading with Tadad's file , it says brightness, contrast and gamma !!

anybody else have that ??

gieten, If you open the .bin file with s1res.exe then scroll down to U130.RES, msstring then just edit the 2nd text entry of SMAIN13 and SMAIN14 to whatever you want, save and reflash your player.

Re: Vista/Media Player 11 Firmware Mod

I see ...

It's not so much the words themselves ...

Those two functions now seem to work differently also ....

if I change the contrast-darkle setting to for instance 10 sec , the gamma-dark setting changes automatically to ...

So dark keeps overruling darkle .... bizar ...

[edit] update : you can EITHER setup darkle OR dark ... they can no longer be programmed both to work seperately ...

They are the same setting i do not know why there are 2 entries, in some of the firmware I have downloaded and looked at there is are screensaver images and I think the firmware is used on many different players but not all features are active, I think one of the settings may have been a screensaver setting.

The only thing I can think of is that the firmware was not completely compatible with your player. I would suggest that you revert back to your original firmware ( assuming you did a backup) and replace the images manually using s1res.exe.

I can not understand why the first one would be ok and the second not as it was the same firmware.

Sorry

Guest, something else you could try. There are 2 settings for lcd sleep if you go to the settings tab and select lcd set, the first entry is Brightness the next 2 entries are essentially both the same dispite the fact that they have different titles. If you set the first one it will automatically set the second one but after setting the first one go into the second one and although it will be tha same just press play to accept the setting and then exit settings menu. Then go and play some music and see if it now works.
