That looks great!!!
Thanks for sharing this with us.

Would you like to upload this onto our site?
I will put it in our "Downloads" section under "Themes". If you upload it yourself, it will be hosted in our site (saves waiting for rapidshare) and you will get credit for it. You can also track the number of downloads too.

Great work!

Re: Vista/Media Player 11 Firmware Mod

I have uploaded it twice and although it appears under new downloads on home page when click it says file does not exist. Also does not appear in upload section. Let me know if i am doing something wrong and I will upload again.

Hey tadad,

All uploaded files need to be 'approved' by myself firstly before they become active on the site. I've approved your file and it's now available for download.

I also edited your original post to point to the location to download your theme you uploaded as well.

Thanks once again for sharing this with everyone.

Glad you like it.
It's the people that helps make it grow. The more we have people contributing, the better it is. It's nice to get people uploading photos, firmware and themes as you can imagine, not everyone has everything, but the more people share, the more we'll have :).

If my menu is the same as this would this likely have the same firmware.
I have the double speaker one same as the pic in the firmware post F11-01GD. http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/ruihong/f11_1gb.jpg
Really hate the menu pics as posted above and would love the new menu pics.

Would this firmware be compatible. ?

tadad1 28th May 2006 7:16 pm

Re: Vista/Media Player 11 Firmware Mod

Mp4er,

To be honest I could not say if the modded firmware would be compatible with your player. You would be better off doing a firmware dump of your version with s1fwx and swapping the images yourself using
s1res, then flashing your own modded firmware. Both applications are in tools download section.

tadad

PS an update is on the way with more new images.

I agree with tadad1.
You are far better off extracting the firmware yourself (instructions are in our [Knowledge Base] section on the left hand menu bar). Then modifying it to your liking (instructions also in our [Knowledge Base] section). It will give you a better understanding of what you can modify and more flexibility too.

Upload it to rapidshare and leave a link, I will have a look at it. As these players have different configurations not all themes are suitable for all players as they use different image sizes etc.

Here is a walkthrough on how to mod your player

http://www.mympxplayer.com/viewtopic.php?t=206

it is not difficult to do, but a little time consuming. I suggest you find a theme that suits your players config and change the images yourself.

Evolis2K2 has just uploaded a very nice mac theme image pack that uses different size images than mine check that out as well, one should suit your player.

Deathman 2nd Jun 2006 4:45 am

Ok, i'll upload it if i'm at home from work...

Would be very nice, if you can make your skin suitable to my Player.

admin 2nd Jun 2006 4:53 am

Deathman,

Go here: http://www.mympxplayer.com/dload.php...le&file_id=138

If you download that file, it actually has the firmware file, but also the .BMP images as well which you can import into your player directly rather than using the firmware file.

Deathman 2nd Jun 2006 5:36 am

Thans, but if i use this theme, my display turns black after restarting the player...

:(

so i have to import all images with the theme modifier!?

i think this took a long time for someone like me who hasn't done this yet...

P.S. I hope my english is not too bad, because my native language is german...

=)

admin 2nd Jun 2006 6:16 am

Deathman

Use the s1res.exe tool instead to import the files.

Read the Knowledge Base it has screenshots to guide you along. If I could speak German, I would, but unfort I can't.

Deathman 2nd Jun 2006 6:29 am

I think my english is good enough to understand everything.

:)

Ok i try it, but i think it would take 1 or 2 hours to import the right files to the firmware with this tool, because the names of the .bmp's from the Theme are not the same as the one on my firmware, so i have to search each picture first...

thx

Deathman 2nd Jun 2006 7:31 am

orry I do not have any problems with it my sleep mode turns off the lcd. Are you turning your unit off at the switch on top or by holding down the play button.

If the switch then this is like a hard reset and your settings and time will be reset. Swith off by holding down the play button and your settings should remain.

Re: Vista/Media Player 11 Firmware Mod

I too have the vista theme from Tadad 1 ... I think its' great ...

a funny thing though ... under the LCD tab, you normally have brighness, darkle and dark ...

after upgrading with Tadad's file , it says brightness, contrast and gamma !!

anybody else have that ??

tadad1 2nd Jun 2006 8:59 am

gieten, If you open the .bin file with s1res.exe then scroll down to U130.RES, msstring then just edit the 2nd text entry of SMAIN13 and SMAIN14 to whatever you want, save and reflash your player.

gieten 2nd Jun 2006 9:19 am

Re: Vista/Media Player 11 Firmware Mod

I see ...

It's not so much the words themselves ...

Those two functions now seem to work differently also ....

if I change the contrast-darkle setting to for instance 10 sec , the gamma-dark setting changes automatically to ...

So dark keeps overruling darkle .... bizar ...

[edit] update : you can EITHER setup darkle OR dark ... they can no longer be programmed both to work seperately ...

tadad1 2nd Jun 2006 9:42 am

Re: Vista/Media Player 11 Firmware Mod

They are the same setting i do not know why there are 2 entries, in some of the firmware I have downloaded and looked at there is are screensaver images and I think the firmware is used on many different players but not all features are active, I think one of the settings may have been a screensaver setting.

2nd Jun 2006 2:33 pm

yes i even tried press and hold the play button to restart the setting for only the sleep mode change all other setting work even the power off but in the sleep mode it does not work, even turn off in the main power and pressing the play button all other seetings works except for the sleep mode. Thank for the replay, Thanks in a million!

The only thing I can think of is that the firmware was not completely compatible with your player. I would suggest that you revert back to your original firmware ( assuming you did a backup) and replace the images manually using s1res.exe.

2nd Jun 2006 4:08 pm

Ok, because i use you first mod and it works just fine. Thanks

I can not understand why the first one would be ok and the second not as it was the same firmware.

Sorry

Re: Vista/Media Player 11 Firmware Mod

Guest, something else you could try. There are 2 settings for lcd sleep if you go to the settings tab and select lcd set, the first entry is Brightness the next 2 entries are essentially both the same dispite the fact that they have different titles. If you set the first one it will automatically set the second one but after setting the first one go into the second one and although it will be tha same just press play to accept the setting and then exit settings menu. Then go and play some music and see if it now works.

Check to make sure you have set your CLOCK SETTINGS.
If you don't put in a time in the clock settings, your sleep settings won't work.

Have a look at this Knowledge Base - How to: Set sleep and power off settings.

Try that and tell me if that fixes your problem.

Amazing theme man great addition to my already amazing mp4 player. Picked one up for the girlfriend too.

You guys are awesome and do great work. Now if all products had the kind of support and updates that these players do, people would buy them from Canadian retailers.

I am actually considering importing hundreds of them and selling them in Canada.

Thanks!

Hi Tadad,

When i saw your post it reminded me of my nano clone, the one i have exactly similar to yours, with the same menu images.
The problem i am facing is the s1fwx tool is not able to recognise my player(My PC OS is Win98se).So i am stuck i can't backup my firmware (ACT 3.2.16).
I desperately want to change my theme please help......

Thank you very much.

tadad1 22nd Jun 2006 3:02 am

Re: Vista/Media Player 11 Firmware Mod

Crazy4MP4, Unfortunatly s1fwx does not work on Win98, you could try atjupload which you can download HERE . I do not know if it will work on Win98 or not but no harm in trying. Failing that you will have to find an XP system to do the backup.

Just a warning do not use the firmware in the Vista theme as it is 3.5.35 and not compatible with your players 3.2.16. You will have to transfer the images yourself using s1res which you will find in the Download>Tools section.

Also when you do manage to get a backup please upload it to the firmware section as there are a few people looking for a recent 3.2.16 to repair their dead players.

Thankyou Crazy4MP4, if you have any furthur questions do not hesitate to ask.
