Suggestion: Battery Icon
well when editing the firmware for my player, I went throught the icons, and noticed the "BATTLVL" one. I noticed there were about 9 different battery images but 2 were the same on each bit, so firstly...
I changed the colour of the inside of the battery to look more like my Sony Ericcson K700i (Green for full, Red for low, looks nice) and secondly I changed the battery level and colour slightly for each individual picture, so now instead of it going 100%, 75%, 50%, 25% it is more accurate like 100%, 85%, 70...... I will upload the zip file of the mod if anybody wants it |

Re: Suggestion: Battery Icon
did the same with my nano clone.. but so far it only shows the "battary empty" icon (dont know why.. since it should show the battery full or partially full icons).. though there are 9 battery levels in the firmware it doesn't seem to show them in these 9 steps.. at least not on mine..

Re: Suggestion: Battery Icon
OK for those of you who need it now, I have uploaded it to my website:
direct download: http://www.imup2date.co.uk/battery.zip EgoTrippin it may be worth using my BMP's in the file and posting the results. I don't have the nano clone mine is different but the firmware allows 9 battery levels, that must suck having a permanently empty battery bar, I will upload some images of mine soon To be honest I haven't really tried to run my battery out as I have watched a DVD for 30 mins so far on it (AMV of course) and it hasnt even gone down one. I am always on the PC and keep it connected so it is always charged. I will also upload it to the themes section in the downloads. |
Re: Suggestion: Battery Icon
yeah i could trie yours too.. but i think its not a matter of the images itself... in the "standart" non-modded firmware i also got only 4 or 5 different levels shown just like yours.. i made some images from green over yellow and orange to red and grey (empty) as a replacement for the standart ones.. since i replaced the original "full battery" image with mine it now should show this one.. instead it shows my grey one.. as if it now runs the list of images backwards
but i'll continue to play around with this issue ;) |
Re: Suggestion: Battery Icon
it is a bit strange that yours comes up with a grey one, are you sure they are uploaded correctly? LVL1 should be empty and LVL9 should be full. If you are correct that it is working backwards then try putting the images in the sequence backwards
I suppose it would be hard to test though, you would have to wait ages for the battery to go down.... |
Re: Suggestion: Battery Icon
just had a look at your images.. i see what you did it in a different way... in my (original) firmware the levels are from 1 (full) to 9 (empty) .. you made your images from 1 (empty) to 9 (full) .. vice versa.. as you mentioned. therefore when the player should show level 1 (full) it shows the empty battery in my case and the full one in your case.. the problem now is that according to the orignial setup it should show the full battery with level 1... your player now shows the full battery with level 9.. i know its a bit confusing.. but the firmware seems to mess this up when you change the battery images..
i could put my images in there backwards.. but this would be a bit strange since this would be the opposite of the original setup of my player.. hmm .. i'll let my player play a video now nonstop.. if its only a matter of the image order then my battery level indicator should become fuller after same time ;) |
Re: Suggestion: Battery Icon
does it matter? as long as it works all should be well?
|
Re: Suggestion: Battery Icon
seems a bit weird because thinking about it logically, surely the higher the level number, the higher the level of battery.....that is weird....
|
Re: Suggestion: Battery Icon
you are right :)
i'll just let my player play a video for some time and see if the battery level indicator changes ... if it does i can change the order of my images and everything will be fine hehe |
